Azzi is Back!!!

I would add that it comes off of a perfectly placed dime from Paige. That would literally blow the new roof off Gampel. :)
You would not be able to hear Meg and Allen speaking for at least 5 minutes because of the noise.

Great news!

She has been doing pre-game warmups and looking great, so I am not surprised. This makes perfect sense!

It will be nuts, hopefully not of the Tropicana Field variety but we will try.

I'm guessing off the bench mid to late first quarter. In front of 60+ former players on what is already one of the biggest nights in UConn WCBB history.

Cannot wait!

There are a many who are critical of her defense, as if she is one dimensional; a jump shooter specialist with nothing else to contribute. Because of that, I would like to see those first points come way of her picking the pocket of a Fairleigh Dickinson guard, then racing the length of the court for an uncontested layup.

Either way, I wish nothing but the best for her!

I'm smiling, for me it's more important than the 1217 coaches wins

Hope her minutes will be with Paige on the court

When Azzi came in, UCONN had three former national high school players of the year on the floor at the same time. Has this ever happened with UCONN before? Has it ever happened with any other D 1 team?

I had the privilege of watching both Paige and Azzi in high school. They were besties before Buckets convinced Fudd to join her at UConn and catch passes from Paige. Bueckers told Azzi that she'd score a lot more getting assists from someone as good at dishing them out as she was at scoring.
When Azzi committed, the clouds parted, and I felt compelled to start a new religion. Well, neither project worked out. Fudd's knee issues in hs bedeviled her in Storrs. She spent much of her career here sitting. No two generational players joining forces.
BUT it's morning again in America, Fudd is back where she belongs.
Her injuries and re-injuries seemed to happen when she inadvertently knocked knees on the court. Will that happen yet again? No one knows. I worried when PB came back from repetitive injuries, wondering if she'd ever be Buckets again. She is. Gracia, Dios.
And life is what it is, and que sera sera. Enjoy the moment.

I was really impressed with how well she looked on D, moving very well, quickly, making switches when necessary, and getting a hand on the ball now and then. You know that her shot is never going away but I was expecting to see a little rust overall. Nope.

Excited Seinfeld GIF
If you watch this Seinfeld clip the SAME TIME you listen to The Chamber's Brothers above song....it's cute!!!

It was a delight to see AZZI back on the court. She looked healthy and unaffected by her latest knee surgery. I think we all have to adjust our expectations a bit. She looked like a fine basketball player, smart and quick. Only time will tell if she returns to the three point form that made her famous. We can only dream. But she is quality all the way. Welcome back.

I am setting realistic expectations for myself. IMHO, Azzi may only play 10-15 mins, 20 at the most. I'm sure they want to ease her in, not set the bar too high, and have her be comfortable in a real game mode.
12 minutes. Now I gotta go play the lottery, LOL

Like Geno said, big difference between playing in practice and in a game. Baby steps for her now but she is a great shooter and great player so we all have to just be patient and imagine we are watching a chronological documentary unfold.
