"The 6-6 Fort Smith Northside star [Wolfenbarger] who is averaging 19.7 points and 8 rebounds per game was named Tuesday as one of the five finalists for the Naismith Trophy. The winner will be announced March 10."A slightly updated version of my previous table. Finalists in green with updated info I could find and I left the semi-finalists in red.
If anyone has the full stats for Azzi, Aaliyah, or Jersey -- I'll gladly edit to include them.

DePaul, St. John’s, and Seton Hall all have players who were ranked by ESPN top 100 at some point, I don’t think the AAC had any players ranked in the top 100 while UConn was in the league, give it time and I think other schools will be able to attract more talent.I found it interesting that none of them were going to DePaul. I want them to continue to be a competitive team along with Marquette. Step it up!

"Aaliyah, a 6-foot-3 forward, is averaging 24.9 points a game this season. She’s led Moore to a 14-7 record this season. The Texas signee was named the Gatorade’s 2019-20 Oklahoma Girls Basketball Player of the Year after leading Moore to its first state tournament appearance in 22 years last season."
A side note....Both Texas and South Carolina have three finalists committed to their program.Hot off the press...
While I truly think Azzi should be a finalist, I'm not sure all kids across the country got the same kind of treatment as her. Very few kids have even gotten to play, so those in State that have been allowed, are the ones that were on the Midseason list. To my knowledge Azzi was only name on that list that hadn't played a game. What about the other really great kids who hadn't gotten to play. Again I think she should be there, but it not really fair either. It will be interesting to see how they handle this award and specifically if they include AAU play as part of the criteria as @Sluconn Husky is alluding to. Two of the SC kids rose drastically in the rankings based on AAU ball as did Caroline Ducharme who is not on the list.
Connecticut High Schools just started playing games in the last 2 weeks.Well technically these are still HS kids playing basketball against other HS kids. Call it the COVID exemption the NCAA anticipated this ( none or not much HS basketball) and provided it's own exemption for AAU events to continue into the fall and winter. The alternative is not to hand out a trophy which I don't think would be the right way to go.
She'll have to make it up when she gets to UConn.Anyway, Azzi loses out on two possible POY's due to injury and Covid.
Less Pressure, more motivation next year....They awarded the Naismith trophy to.....Raven Johnson. The press release says it is based on outstanding performances during the 20-21 season which is odd considering how many of the candidates barely played this season.

Okay. Not sure why you're telling me this. I'm aware of who she is. I didn't knock Johnson, however the entire process seems pointless including listing players who only played twice (Fudd) when you know they can't win by your own criteria.
George's Terryville Avenue Market, the Biggest and Best in America LoL!I don't know much about the Jersey Mike award..I prefer Subway anyway esp. the meatball one..
