Instead of you all wasting your time on who's AWFUL, maybe you should try to help fix the problem by writing the NCAA and have them put some guidelines on NIL, the Portal and Conference realignment?

Your Huskies still right at bubble. Good finish & Big10 tourney and you may be in. Need to hope for no bid stealers.
The Huskies--as in, 14-12 Washington Huskies?

They stink. I have a hard time seeing them finishing out strong. They desperately needed that Southern Cal game but, predictably, they fumbled it away. I just can't see that team going on the road to beat Nebraska AND Minnesota in a span of four games. If they were to manage that, they might actually knock Minnesota out (assuming Minnesota continues to slide).

Latasha Lattimore (played for Miami last season and the year before that) is averaging about 15 ppg and 9 rpg for UVA and has another year of eligibility (if she wants to use it).
@cancontent

Lattimore has been effusive on how UVA's Coach Mox has been straight forward and tough with her. Since a non-appearance during the ND game, Lattimore has played very well. Coach Mox should advise her to hang around Charlottesville one more year to get better and build up her skills/resume for the 2026 draft that will have two more teams choosing (after a new CBA deal).

Appreciate the insight. She needed some tough love from someone. From what I remember during high school and AAU, she was coddled. Not sure if she has any more eligibility. Thought Miami would apply for an exemption when she suffered the ACL when she first transfered there but her profile doesn't reference her being a redshirt.

Syracuse is a huge disappointment this season after what they did last year. Watching them consistently lose winnable games to “lesser” teams has been exhausting. They just look completely lost out on the floor. Not sure how much of that is on the coaches and how much of it is on the players (and their talent level/basketball IQ).

What a shame. I’ve been regretting my season ticket (with floor upgrade) purchase since November.

Not sure what it will take to right the ship.
From an opposition standpoint, I've also been perplexed and a bit disappointed in the "Cuse this year.

On one hand, they lost two players to eligibility, Alaina Rice and, of course, Dyaisha Fair who was the leader and go-to everything for that team. Howver, they also lost forward Alyssa Latham who had a stellar freshman year and looked set to have Liatu King-like performances for the Orange. But she transferred to another team that wears orange, Tennessee. Not sure this has benefitted she or the 'Cuse in that she only plays 13 minutes per game in Knoxville.

But this doesn't explain the lack of cohesiveness that you (and I) have witnessed. I might suggest that the absence of Sue Ludwig on the bench could also be a factor. Ludwig was a great high school coach who joined Legette-Jack when Coach Jack took over the reins. Don't know what role she played per se, but the team just looks off on details, something a former high school coach would stress.

Coach Legette-Jack will lose some more players after this year. She's got Sophie Burrows retuning, who has skills and moxie, but who will fill in the blanks?

Yeah, there are teams that have a hard time winning games, and then there are teams that seem just about incapable of beating anyone. Several different levels of bad.

Looks like CSUB has a first year head coach, so probably isn't going to get fired already. Only the 4th coach in program history. Apparently they were fairly successful in D2. Some schools probably shouldn't move up to D1, this being a prime example.

Previous head coach is the father of former Stanford player Erica McCall. He lasted 13 years
Greg McCall also DeWanna Bonner’s father.

Speaking of a team that recently moved up to D1, Le Moyne is in the bottom half of the powerhouse NEC. 4-7 in conference and 4-20 overall. They had the honor of getting beaten up by Colorado and USC at the start of the season.

I haven’t been to a game all season. Though I might go see them play CCSU, who is actually in the upper half of their conference ... they’ve won a whopping total of 7 games this year. And one of those was against Le Moyne.

Can we just deregulate an entire conference?
Le Moyne beat Long Island 83-53 this morning. Ouch!

It seems like cheating but I just looked at the bottom of Massey and came up with this. The teams don't really have any fans hereto comment but they qualify as awful.

I like this idea but I think the poster is focusing on the terrible teams from the major conferences. I took your idea and did some modifications. Since there are 79 total teams in the Power 4 + Big East I decided that any team with a Massey rating of 80 or lower is considered an "awful" team. With that criteria, the following is a list of awful team:

81 BYU
82 Missouri
---- BOTTOM 25% ----
83 Boston College
84 Penn St
93 Georgia
94 St John's
---- BOTTOM 20% ----
95 Wisconsin
101 Purdue

103 Wake Forest
105 Arkansas
107 Depaul
108 UCF
111 SMU
114 Northwestern
---- BOTTOM 10% ---
115 Rutgers
116 Arizona State
118 Georgetown
119 Butler

122 Pittsburgh
139 Providence
155 Houston
244 Xavier

This makes up 22 of the 79 teams (aka the bottom 28%). Thinking in terms of a bell curve, I think that is a little too many teams in the "awful" category, so I broke it up into percentiles. To me, the bottom 10% seems like a more reasonable metric.

Edit: I colored each team by conference.

Did you omit TAMU? Or is their fall more recent? Looks like Mizzou has inched up slightly.
They were not below 79 at the time I made the list. I see they're sitting at 82 today (and flip flopped places with Mizzou who is now ranked 78). I'll revisit it at the end of the regular season but I am not keeping up with it from week to week.

@KnightBridgeAZ You might be right after all. Sad to say, but SMU is probably awful  Season is over, they finished 18th in the ACC out of 18 teams and don't qualify for the conference tournament. 14 straight losses :(

I was looking forward to buying some SMU gear and showing up to support them here in Greensboro. I'll save that 50 bucks and use it for lunch instead

Soooo appropriate. The Sun Devils runner-ups which comes close to capturing their performance in each game they play.

How many of these coaches will be shown the door now?

I'm pretty sure Tempe will be subjected to the nice coach from Delaware and 2021 CAA coach of the year for the final year of her contract which will allow her to accumulate 80 losses in 4 years. That's got to be close to a record for a power 4 conference coach at the same school.

Poor Xavier. Picked last in the BE in pre-season polls and then actually is last at the end of the season.

Well, I guess there's nowhere to go but up!

Two weeks to discuss this is more than enough.

Personally, I've always loathed posts about awful teams, team I love to hate, players and coaches I love to hate, etc. etc. etc...
