Autry out at Syracuse

Another home run hire.

Gerry McNamara quickly turned Siena around and there are clear connections he already has with the school, boosters, recruiting trail, etc.

I'd expect a bevy of current and future Saints, especially Doty/Folefac/Moesch/Edmond, to follow their HC upstate. Edmond played at Notre Dame-Fairfield two seasons ago.

My prediction: CCSU's Patrick Sellers replaces McNamara at Siena.

Power conference membership doesn't innoculate you from misery apparently. Rutgers, SU and BC finding out that bad decisions are debilitating.
Yep. It would be nice to have the additional cash, but in the end, coaching hires is probably the biggest factor in success.

Great hire. Hated the guy when he played for Cuse. All my Cuse grads down here are cheering and I can see why. Siena with a full team would likely beat Duke

March just truly never disappoints - not sure we can consider this an upset, but a USF coach turning down cuse to coach at P.C. kinda feels like an equivalent of a 4 seeded cuse team getting beat by a rando 13 seed — let’s say Vermont. Cuse appears to be on the Rutgers track for athletic department ineptitude.
Maybe Hodgkin knew it was GMac's to lose

.-.
ARe they really insane enough to believe Wright, Stevens or Donovan would go there? Maybe if they paid 50M/year, but short of that....
Dapper Wright isn’t living in a small town like Syracuse

The other 2 suggestions are ridiculous.

McNamara is a ridiculous hire. It feels like a distraction from the fact that Syracuse has put its athletic department on austerity.

If Providence wants to be the BE #4 team it's theirs for the taking, and with a solid ooc, the BE 4th bid for 2027. As things stand I think the top 3 are a pretty solid UConn, STJ, nova but would like seeing Providence step it up as a strong 4 unlike Shalls failure this year as BE team #4. Hall is close to getting a bid if they trend up even slightly next year starting with a better ooc. BE 5 bids would be a good goal after this year.
