That's the closest to what I said.

For some context, the soon-to-be freshman was the girl my wife was a live-in nanny for when she first moved to the Northeast. Great kid, not really into sports and overcame some learning issues as a young kid to become an Honor Roll student in each of her semesters in high school.

Syracuse might be the worst city in the entirety of America. It sucks. My only fond memory of Syracuse is leaving.

It's funny, I was talking to the girl's mom, and she's confused why she's going to Syracuse. The girl has a passion for interior design, got into a few NYC schools and LA based schools (plus a few art schools) but really liked Syracuse for some reason. Mom was super unimpressed when she visited the campus for the first time (you pay all this money for this?). The mom loves traveling and would have had no issue if she went to college in California, so she's definitely bummed for the 4 hour drive to Syracuse.

I did refuse the Syracuse themed cupcakes, though, so point for me.
