What did you expect? I don't know anyone hardcore enough to take off from work, on a Thursday, for a meaningless game against 2 crappy non-local teams, anywhere. Hartford or not.

Hello hello

There will be 12k + at the XL tonight, your point?

So you're comparing attendance from a game at 9:30 at night to a game at 3:30 in the afternoon? Because that makes total sense. No factors would effect one over the other so thanks!

.-.
3:30 on ESPNU: UCF vs ECU

6:00 on ESPNNEWS Houston vs Tulane

8:00 (definitely later): USF vs UConn

I'm gonna guess 4500 for the UCF/ECU game, 9000 for the Houston/Tulane game, 12500 for the USF/UConn game

EDIT: Not tickets sold but actual butts in seats

LOL from the second level:

Game 1: 500
Game 2 1h: 1,250

Based on where people are sitting. Do not expect a big crowd for UConn game.

.-.
2:30 to tip. I'd say we've got 8k here max. Ugly.

For the UConn game you could have put the entire crowd in the lower bowl.

On the bright side you don't have to worry about the tourney coming back again.

If they make it to Sunday... if you come to the championship and were above today eat a bag of dicks.

Attendance was 5,000 tonight. Need a huge crowd tomorrow night v.s. Cincy. But what can we expect? 8-9k? I was hoping for 12-14.

Pathetic crowd. I figured more UConn fans would go since tickets seemed to be so cheap. Are people waiting for the 2nd round game?

5K? By no means was the crowd large, but it wasn't only a third full, either. It had to be 8-9K.

Maybe 7K on the low end.

So what.....a half full building for a do or die season ending tournament game?

I made no inference as to whether it was a good or bad turnout. I just disputed the 5K number. I wish it would have been bigger too. (That's what she said.)

Awful crowd tonight, dead and fairly empty. Hope they were all just assuming

There were 7-8k at the Garden last night

I was here last nigth at MSG. There was about 12,000 fans. the problem is that most people don't stay for the second game and people come in late for the first. Its unfortunate. The afternoon today was muchhhhh better with the Providence and Villanova fans traveling extremely well, outnumbering the St. John's fans... and the Georgetown-Creighton game put a lot of butts in the seat tonight. Its amazing how well Creighton travels and GT ofcourse. Those guys love their team out in Omaha. However, the Big East has long way to go to foster new rivalries for fans to be compelled to stay full time. I'm afraid the days of building rivalries its over though. It's all about TV now. I Don't wanna see the day the ACC plays at Barclays. its gonna be ugly

.-.
Uh, try 12,600 last night and 15,100 this afternoon. Waiting on tonight's numbers.

I've been to 11 of the last 13 Big East tournaments. There is no way in hell there was 15k in the building this afternoon.

Each Providence fan counts for three on the attendance sheet.

There the definitely was. It was pretty packed. Except for the Bridge and the upper 200 seats

Blame the Conference! The ticket prices are out of this world!!!! We should of never of had this tournament here. it makes UCONN look terrible. the upper section should of been $5. Its embarrassing. There is a reason The Atlantic Coast Conference has a curtain coming down in Greensboro. The Conferences Way Overprice The Market

I was proud to be one of the 50 people in the stands for UCF-ECU! You guys missed a good game!

I would say about 8000-9000 were there for the UConn game. It was loud and supportive at the start and when it was obvious USF sucked balls got comfortable.

Will all you true fans dissing the crowd while sitting at home be going to the game tomorrow? It's Friday night, they serve beer, and it's win or stay home for the NCAA's. No excuses.
