Not my first choice of destination, for sure, but we needed something for the kids to enjoy along with some of my wife's cousins and their kids.

It's going to be mobbed given that this is April vacation week in Mass. and much of CT. Anyone been and have suggestions as to how to avoid the masses?

Walk to the ocean and swim about a mile out.

The crowds will thin considerably.

You could be at Disney World with me. Atlantis will be a ghost town by comparison. There is no good, warm, low crowd location during April vacation.

Between the late night party crowd who sleeps until noon and the people that are only there to gamble, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It's so damn big that the crowds spread out. However, if there are multiple cruise ships in town, watch out. The dregs of society descend on the place. It looks like the last scene in Casino, but if they were all in bathing suits.

Reminds me off a comment from the guys (young guys from Michigan living the dream) who ran the catamaran snorkeling trip we took from St. Thomas to St. John. He correctly identified us as coming off of a Disney Cruise. We asked why. He pointed out that none of us were drunk, or vomiting, and we had all showered and were wearing clean clothes. He said he can pick out each cruise line by the crowd. Carnival folks tend to get off the boat, go to the bar and are hammered before they even get on his boat. They are also from a different socio-economic category.

How do the cruisers even get to the Atlantis from Nassau? Why would the Atlantis even let them on the property?

How do the cruisers even get to the Atlantis from Nassau? There's a water taxi that takes you from the cruise ship port across to Paradise Island.

Why would the Atlantis even let them on the property? $$$$$$$$. They pay a ridiculous daily use fee of $150 or something similar if you want to access the waterpark and beaches. Others just show up and go straight to the casino.
