Not a coach but additional comings and going’s in the staff make-up:

Here is Pace's bio from his stop @ Lafayette before landing @ UConn last year as an Offensive Analyst:

Pace is highlighted in this article from On3 last summer: 2022 coach series: 65 rising-star support-staff coaches you need to know

-> UConn offensive analyst Christian Pace
  • Former Michigan offensive lineman.
  • Medically retired in 2011 and began coaching as a student assistant with the Wolverines.
  • Was an offensive line and tight ends graduate assistant at Florida under Jim McElwain in 2015 and 2016.
  • Worked at FCS Lafayette the past five seasons, including as offensive line coach the past three seasons. Previously was team’s tight ends and fullbacks coach. <-

All that time at Lafayette you have to assume he has plenty of contact in PA and NJ.

I had family in that area as a youngin' and went to several Lehigh/Lafayette games and Easton/Pburg HS games at Lafayette's football stadium.

Recruits are tagging Mike Ryan and Christian Pace in offers. Can the team just announce their new positions already.
That's the part I can't stand sometimes... We wait til like the absolute last moment to announce our roster and coaching updates.. when it seems like everybody else turned the page once the calendar year changes...

I could be completely wrong on this, but I think it’s the semantics of it being a state job and letting the proper time take its course for all “candidates” to apply. It clearly doesn’t work, but is required by state.

Forgot that you can look in the Athletics directory
Just to clarify this, I don't mean the football coaches page that lives under the roster. I was checking that often.

.-.
There is a jobb posting that starts and ends today for an assistant coach and I wonder what this all means for Mike Ryan as he has been out recruiting a lot and the other analsyst who was out recruiting is now listed as TE’s coach. They would have the max of 10 assistants thought with the new WR’s coach unless the pass game coordinator doesn’t count as one of the 10 for some reason

I was thinking about that with Marinelli but he is listed as an assistant coach, not just an analyst. Then again, things can change in an instant.

I grew up in the Lehigh Valley, with a lot of family in Easton. I've watched many Easton/Pburg games on Thanksgiving.

This. Former teacher and when I was hired by a school and had a contract signed they still had the job posted until a certain time had elapsed because of mandatory requirements from the state. They told me ahead of time so I wasn't wondering what was up. Continued to see jobs "open" online when an internal candidate was already decided on.

It looks like Mike Ryan may be taking over Beau Davidson's position.

So we've heard about RB and WR coach positions. Nothing on DC yet. Wonder if we will hear anything on that.

JM is the DC. I’d be surprised if he would bring in a DC with an approach that differed than his.

.-.
I believe the staff may be set.

HC/DC - Mora

OC/QB - Charlton
PGC - Marinelli
RB - Wilcox
WR - Moore
TE- Pace
OL - Sammis

DL - McLendon
LB - Diabate
DB - Hilliard

ST - Shearer

If there is an eleven "Coach" limit and John Marinelli is retaining one of those those spots as "Passing Game Coordinator", that would mean the staff is complete, no?

The confusing part is the fact that two analyst have been out recruiting and one is now TE’s coach. Ryan has been out recruiting a lot to not get moved up especially with the other analyst Pace getting a assistant role

John is listed as an assistant coach. If he wasn't a counted coach it wouldn't say coach.

Mike Ryan is listed as a defensive analyst now. It's possible that he was temporarily moved into a counted coach role for recruiting purposes.

Beau Davidson was out recruiting all the time. He was the Director of Player Personnel.
It appears that Mike Ryan is now in that position.

Don’t know what to think of all these departures. On one hand, there is a positive view that confirms the quality of the staff. On the other, I keep thinking about coach Mora’s comments about the school needing to make more of a commitment to football. Is this a result of not being able to competitively compensate?

Also consider the Utah State journalist who claimed JM is very demanding of coaches. My glass half full attitude says JM is committed to improvement.

2022 UConn Football LB Hunter Webb is the new Director of Recruiting Operations.

New Director of Scouting from URI: Chris Satoh
The directory also has some movement on the recruiting staff too
