Didn't see it up till after I posted...late to the party again

I saw that - they also added the Director of Football Ops and Director of Player Personnel (a completely new position for UConn Football) for positions to be filled .

DIRECTOR OF PLAYER PERSONNEL (Specialist IA)
University of Connecticut
Division of Athletics

Responsibilities include:maintaining recruiting database of prospective student-athletes including updating and streamlining information utilizing JumpForward; assist recruiting coordinator with team roster scholarship count to develop a list of future position needs; manage Assistant Director of Player Personnel and Assistant Director of Player Engagement; and other program duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach and the Recruiting Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree; collegiate playing experience; knowledge of the correct application of NCAA regulations; strong commitment to the academic goals of the University; and excellent organizational, teaching, communication and public relations skills.

Preferred Qualifications:four years recruiting experience for a Division I football program

Salary:Commensurate with experience.

I wish we could get a guy like Jeff Hafley into a position like this. He would still be an awesome recruiting coordinator and personnel guy as was shown in the past at Pitt and Rutgirls. Does anyone know if he has taken any new position following his stint with Tampa Bay?

You're correct. My apologies. I thought he was no longer with Tampa, but everything I researched said he is still is the secondary coach in Tampa; that is until Schiano leaves for his dream job.

Hafley is a huge NJ and PA recruiter and is young and enthusiastic. He seems to suit Diaco's style. Just a passing thought and new year's wish. Thanks medic.

Agreed - they are both Jersey boys (1/2 hr apart).

Hafley could be either db or wr coach here. He got Schiano/Rutgers back into Bosco, Bergen Catholic and St Joe's Montvale. He single handily got most of that class (Caroo, Huggins, Hamilton as well as Nova among others) before leaving with Shady for Tampa. He crushed NJ when he was at Pitt working for Wanny. he would be a GREAT add to this staff...especially as a NJ recruiter.

Mike Cummings seems to fit the Preferred Qualifications. Current offensive coordinator for Central Michigan. He was OL coach at Western Michigan in 2004 when Diaco served as RB coach.

That was a great find by the way. I think you were the first to zero in on Cummings. I expect Van Malone to announce he is accepting the DC position Jan. 4th after the Cotton Bowl based on his connection to Diaco. Malone fits the Preferred Qualifications as well.
