Ashlynn Shade embracing her new nickname

.-.
That's awful. Her name is Ashlynn. Better two-syllable thing to say. Never liked "Stewie" either. Breanna is what her parents named her. Peoples' names were chosen carefully by parents.
Maya was Maya. For me Diana was/is always Diana. Rebecca is Rebecca. Etc...

I think of Ashlyn as “Ash”. No confusion that I’m aware of. I might be mistaken but I think “Ash” is used by teammates and staff.
Yee Haw... was given to her by her teammates bcus she loves listening to country music.....she likes it sooooo.

Her teammates gave it to her

If it helps her hit 3's- cool.

But, for me, still nothing better than "Bam-Bam"- Gino said Stacy thought she was playing football for the Oklahoma Sooners. -)
There is only one Bam-Bam...Stacy H.

It would be even better if everyone did the fist-pump too!

What do they call her when they need her to set a screen or switch coverage on defense? Doubtful it's YeeHaw.

Will the staid CT fans embrace it? It took at least a decade to get UConn UConn UConn out of them reliably.

What the teammates might call her in practice is up to them, however the term Yee Haw in the Midwest is Not a term of endearment, but could be used as an equivalent to hick. I suggest that we stick to more complimentary names if we must use a nickname, but I think "Ash" will do just nicely.

I think the title of this thread is very misleading inasmuch as I have never heard Ashlynn "embrace" this term for her and I'm pretty sure her family would not view it in a positive light. Do any of you really think Geno or CD would ever refer to her as Yee Haw in a discussion with the media?
