What the heck is going on there?

[Batouly] Camara, a 6-foot-2 freshman from New York City, averaged 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds last season, playing in all 33 games, including 14 starts.

The forward is now the sixth player to part ways with UK this season, including four others who asked for transfers and a fifth, Chrishae Rowe, who was kicked off the team before the start of the season
.

Another player, assistant coach decide to leave UK women’s program

I would love to see something that actually addresses what's going on at Kentucky. However, I understand the reasons why players and asst coaches leaving might wish to remain silent.

This is a repetitive pattern with Mitchell. He is trying to find assistants who can supply his deficits in developing offense and he likes fall guys/gals because he is who he is.

This is getting to the level of UNC and not far from the Loyola situation in terms of numbers.
Again Tamika has organized her professional life around her personal life and not the other way around so that might be the answer there, but the player exodus is pretty worrying from a program at a much higher level than Loyola.
Not included in this article is the de-commit from a 2017 post player's verbal.

He and his wife gave the school a million dollars a few years ago. The AD isn't going to do anything.

Don't know if this has been reported elsewhere but it also appears that Kentucky top 2016 commit Lindsey Corsaro a McDonald's All-American has also de-committed from Kentucky per ESPN.
2016 HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings - espnW 100 - ESPN.
For all the beating TN has taken about not landing any 2016 recruits and these defections KY might be in worse shape. I count a roster of 7 Total for KY next season .

While that has been true in the past, it is not the case in this instance.

OK - I assume you have some source - if it is public can you share?

They have a transfer, so it's 8.

I don't know much about Mitchell except what I have seen on tv and read here but: A good and usually successful leader, in most endeavors, selects people who can do specific functions and really good leaders select those that make up for those area's in which the leader has deficits. If he is doing that, he's a better leader than I thought...

IIRC Arthur Miller wrote a play about similar situations that happened a few years back in good ole happy Salem. Everybody jumped on the bandwagon then also. Has any coach been hanged, burned at the stake, or pressed to death yet? Give it time and it will play itself out ............ I HOPE.

Uh, nah...not what's going on with Mitchell. After a season he let Jeff House go:

"According to House, his "analytical style" clashed with Mitchell's way of doing things.

"If I gave him (Mitchell) analytical information about an official or something, that's not what he wanted," House said. "He wanted somebody to tell him how great it was, how great of a day it was going to be and 'we're going to have a great game' instead of an experienced coach who would provide insight and analysis. Neither one of those methods is right or wrong. [Right!] It just didn't fit."

UK Hoops and assistants Pillow, House part ways

Jabir at Dayton snapped House up and his resume is impressive. [read House was smarter than Mitchell and he couldn't stand it]

Mitchell is a jerk and a whiner. My seats are a few rows behind the opposing head coach so I get to observe them closely.

Hmmmmmmm

This is a head scratcher. Need time to ponder this.

Something is foul in the bluegrass state and I don't think it's the horse manure.

In this case it may show that he doesn't really know what he needs, but keeps trying different assistants because his current methods can;t get them to the next level. Getting a bunch of good athletes and having them run up and down as fat as they can may beat many less athletic teams, but will never beat a good basketball team with good athletes.
