Really excellent article. (I checked twice to make sure that Steve Rushin wasn't the author!)

As usual, Geno said something that surprised me. His sales pitch now is "We're different", as opposed to "We're better". He said that players that UConn had wanted have gone elsewhere and have beaten UConn for championships, "and that's fine". I suspect he was thinking mostly of A'ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston. But UConn still offers a specific culture that suits some excellent basketball players, but not all of them.

Fantastic article.Right to heart of what UCONN is. Geno had a philosophy and built it into why UCONN Women's Basketball teams became the Basketball Capital of the World! Tiny little college that was not visible in the BB arena and had the good luck to hire Geno Aurema as coach and 40 years later are the Greatest Basketball Program in the history of Women's BB. God bless you Geno. GO HUSKIES!!!!!
