6’4 185 soon-to-be junior from Saint Peter’s.

Averaged 11p, 6r, 1.5a, 1.6s, career 32.6 3P%. Athletic and good defensive player. I’ve seen him live three times across two seasons, wasn’t SPU’s top option, but he’ll be a hell of a practice piece and can be a all-around glue guy if he gets minutes. Gives an honest effort at all times too.

It's looking to me like they plan on using these kids outside of just stepping up the practices.
If we hold it up to the old mirror of walk ons and deep bench pieces we inevitably ask "why would they want to come here and never play"? Fair question.
But these aren't walk ons. This is a new class of "bench pieces". Im not saying we'll have a fifteen man rotation by any means, that's preposterous, but I don't think we're gonna have to worry as much about foul trouble as we have the past few years.

I'm a huge homer but this staffs brilliance is the same reason I'm a beach boys fan. They just did/do things differently, with such confidence. That Tom Moore interview was pretty upper level.

Demary
Smith
Solo
Mullins
Stewart
AK
Reed
Reibe
Furphy or Ross

By all indications that is the close game rotation. The pieces we're looking at are like what Singare was last year... deep foul insurance and practice guys.

I think these guys are guys looking to be on a winning culture and to get some great recommendations from practice in a euro-esque offense before heading going overseas.

I doubt they'll find or are even looking to add a portal transfer of Cam's caliber. He was one of Rutgers best players who did damage in the B10 before he landed at UConn.

Maybe they'll land a Loyola University Maryland Cam Spencer which is where he played before transferring to Rutgers.

Cam was a very special under evaluated talent early on, though highly regarded when UConn landed him. Considering he was on an NBA roster this past season, it would be quite a coup if UConn finds a player of that caliber in the portal at this time. Danny and his staff have been very good finding very good players who have performed well and fit the Husky culture.

I'm getting "good vibrations" about this team.........https://youtu.be/mdt0SOqPJcg?si=IetXuuW9FJfw3O_A

I love this if it happens as I still wonder if Solo/J Stew can guard athletic wings after Jamiya Neal lit us up this year. This is the kind of dude that can.

It took Coach a few years to not be so stubborn with roster management/loyalty (didn’t like roster construction around ‘21-‘22, but the lack of wing defense they saw like we did and are addressing with this. Hopefully JRoss is up to the task this season as well.

Staff continues to play chess, great job by them!

Do we have this guy? Where is he on the depth chart and at 6’4” guard who is he sitting behind?

No, not yet, fingers crossed.

With everyone healthy, he'd be, at best, the fifth guard behind Ball, Demary, Mullins and Smith (basically the same step in the totem pole to where Darius Adams would have played this year...)

What's crazy is looking at older rosters under Hurley, there's not a big difference in talent, if any between Zeigler and a sophomore version of Brendan Adams, who started at the 4 for the 2019-20 squad.

Beautiful post. Nailed it.

He seems too good to be a bench piece. 30 minutes a game last year, 6 rebounds, crazy athleticism, fast, less than two fouls a game- over 50% scoring… Why wouldn’t he end up at another Big East school starting?

6’4, athletic, and I assume any guard that averages 6 boards hustles and is a hard worker

Will be nearly impossible breaking through a rotation of Silas/Solo/Malachi/Braylon, but this is exactly the archetype to give those guys fits in practice to get them ready for the physical BE. I’m all for it

Not-so-boldly going to assume that Braylon starts at the 3 and Jaylin is backup PF since our focus is on the deep bench and not a rotation-level PF

Read somewhere he is a below average outside shooter. Haven't checked his stats so apologize if that's not the case.

Seems to be so.

A little over 50% on Two's and only 30% on Threes so that may be what's holding others off. Good for UConn though, especially if the coaches can help with his percentages.

Our staff and the culture here can work wonders to a highly motivated young man. The fact that he is a good defender would not be lost on our staff. Hope he has or will develop a killer work ethic. Apparently already has the athleticism which is huge. This is another factor already building up a lot of excitement for the upcoming season. And it's not even Memorial Day yet.

Sounds like a Jayden Ross if the real Jayden Ross doesn't step it up.
Jayden has not been a great shooter, though he has looked good making 3’s at times. Hope he’s taking 500 shots a day.
