Yeah, they're like 2024 UConn or 2018 Villanova. They can and should be favored.

Now, why May played Yaxel in that second half, I don't know. And there are definitely avenues for UConn (can Michigan shoot that well again?).

But winning this would be Hurley's Picasso.

the problem is containing their lob game while also dictating the pace to the half court. May is an excellent coach and should anticipate our counter. we did not employ the best strategy vs duke in the first half and fell behind bigly, can't afford to do that vs this team with so much firepower.

This Michigan team is better than Duke. They have more firepower. We lay an egg at any point and they can run away with it.

That said we can learn a lot from how Duke played them and controlled pace, stifled Cadeau and made it really hard for UM to get into any kind of flow. Have to keep them in 3rd gear. Have to hope in a more plodding game they don’t find any flow from 3.

Then if we rebound, minimize live ball turnovers and hit shots, we have a chance. Have to keep them out of any transition is 1.

Stylistically we have the type of team that can give them fits. They simply have so much horsepower, depth. Gayle and McKinney would start for many top teams.

Yeah, I thought you were way too high on Duke. But this is not the case for Michigan. They're the real deal.

We need to limit second chance points and fast break points. If we do that, run our sets, and hit open looks at a good clip, we'll have a chance. Especially since Cadeau has no backup and Yaxel will be limited. I'd have felt better if Arizona made that a game, because it was very physical. If the refs call the game like they did in the first half, we're probably boned.

5 minutes of the Euro now that right there would be a victory, if it meant Mara dunking that could be 5 minutes of Michigan not taking any 3’s, that could put Michigan into a mind trap lol.

They weren't the better team on this day: Duke 68 - Mich 63 and Duke wasn't the better team when we faced them a week ago.

We don't need to be theteam that ends the season with the most blowouts. We don't need to be better at highlight reel dunks, transition threes in a blowout or dueling eight to twelve second possessions in a game headed to 95+ points scored by the winner.

We have one game to concern ourselves with, and if we pull it out, we will once again be champions. To our benefit, our style of play is exactly what gives them fits. There were a few extended half court possessions yesterday and neither team looked like they had the discipline or mental toughness needed to succeed consistently in that setting, that is our wheelhouse.

Mara had a Zach Edey-esque game yesterday. He’s not Zach Edey. He’ll be a problem, but I expect us to handle it better than Arizona did
 
ILL. was bigger but slower. UM is big and fast. Can’t run with these guys.

On O - Need to control the tempo and run our O until they drop from exhaustion chasing. I imagine they will aggressively defend the 3 and let Mara handle Reed knowing his size will make Reed less efficient scoring.

On D - you know they are going straight at Reed. We need to defend the 3 though maniacally. We need them to take 2s for our 3s. Let Mara eat and starve the rest.

Dook looked unstoppable going into the final game in 1999 and we all know how that turned out. I'm okay that they blew out Zona. Better that than them facing us feeling battle tested.

If the game stays close throughout the game on Monday or we happen to jump out to an early lead, I like our chances.

UM is a mature, big, athletic and talented team, but they've been beaten. They're not invincible. And this is our time of year. Winning time! UConn time. Bring 'em on!
