Are these announcers actually watching the same game we are?
Sam Thomas must have a hell of a wing span. She's under 6' but she gets so many blocks, tipped passes and steals.
Hope you enjoyed. I made the game, I was next to Joan Bonvicini, in fact I had to slide over so she could get out to do interviews. I love our floor seats (my wife wasn't well enough to attend).Amazing energy tonight. McDonald' double double, great defense ..... Much of the night baseline to baseline and an unbelievable crowd.
After the game Coach Barnes said the crowd support was key to the W.
Great win for the Cats and a very disappointing lose for ASU. Anytime Robbi has to take 21 shots, ASU is in trouble.
As a Sun Devil I envy this type of community support. McKale was rocking. Barnes will be tough to recruit against with this type of fan energy.
Alonso is a calming presence. Offense may be sporadic but she rarely makes the big mistake either.Alonso on the floor, don't like it. She hasn't done anything tonight.
McBryde with a big 3. 48-42.
Good point. It's also smart bringing in a Zona legend like Barnes, the only UA player to be a PAC POY.. She not only has focused on building a great team, but getting fan support like Rueck and Graves have done for the Oregon Teams. With the Oregon schools sellouts and UA turnout, it's impressive.Arizona is fortunate that Arizona State swept the Oregon schools, because otherwise their resume at this point would be a mound of meh.
Robbi Ryan was stellar, but Reili Richardson came up with a goose egg tonight. I have to say, Reili is great as a floor leader but her lack of development as an offensive threat has been a disappointment.
What can you say about the turnout. Tucson is a great college town and now a waking giant of WBB.
CTT wasn't happy with the call and walked away angry. She is very skilled at what to say within limits and walking away without earning a tech for her complaining.
I wish that Arizona's Sam Thomas would shoot in this game.
I think Bonvicini is trying too hard to not sound biased toward the school she used to coach.
