Arizona Post Game Thread

At the end of the day, this game is going to make us a lot better. Lets draw up a lot of sets for Reibe against Bryant (wow), and get ready for Illinois and Kansas.

Oh and P.S. Plz shoot a million free throws in practice. That was the worst shooting from the stripe in a while.

We should have gotten crushed without Reed. We stuck in there.

However, still a game we could of won - missed 9 free throws. Ball 1-8 from three. Alex, 8 points. Fix those just a little and it's a win.

The biggest take away - Reibe - 15 points, 6/10, 2/5 from three in 28 minutes. That's a good thing going forward.

How does Karaban only take 2 threes?

Hopefully Reed is back soon and we didn't lose a seed line today.

The comeback to take the lead showed guts and moxy. Then the moxy left the last 1:40.

The team is very good, and very well constructed. It will improve week by week, and be really good by mid January.

Reibe showed he's not just a warm very young body on the bench. Kid can really play, and will complement Reed nicely.

Ball's shooting is great inside the arc ... and horrendous outside. He needs to be hitting 3's at 40%, it will open up a lot of options for everyone else.

Need to tighten up the D on dribble drive teams - like St. Johns. AZ got to the rim a little too easily from several players.

Solo's 3ball is officially a concern, hasn't shot it well in any games including exhibitions and if it wasn't for some of the after the release foul calls that really didn't impact the shot the % would be even worse. Doing well off the middies and attacking the basket but the offense works too hard to get Solo open 3s to continuously miss damn near all of them.

Solo Ball's 3 point shooting is trending towards worrisome.

The rebounds and foul shooting killed us.

All that being said, im more confident in this team then ever that they will be a legit contender once all the pieces get healthy.

-Great game by Riebe. I want him to keep shooting open 3's.
-The Junior twins, Stewart and Ross, continue to underperform as a whole. Individual moments but a negative return on investment as a duo.
-Karaban and Ball below average shooting.
- Peat showed several times one on one with Karaban why he is a lottery pick and Karaban is a borderline draft pick.

Tough loss minus two starters. Plenty of time to integrate and right the ship.

Watching Riebe hesitate on 3's was reminiscent of Sanogo in 22-23 before light went off.

Not worried. Not upset.

Get healthy and see what happens.

Tough tough game. Proud of the effort. Had low expectations after they got down 13. Better execution in the last 2 minutes wins this. Better free throw shooting wins this. Team wins rather easily I feel with Reed in there. Easiest loss to take in years.

To be honest, felt like a miracle they lost by only 4 and were leading with a little over a minute left. Look at the boxscore. Left a lot of points at the line too. Mostly Reibe and Koroma but even Karaban was 3-5 with a miss on the front end of a one and one.

Just get healthy and move on. Have some other tough ones coming up.

It seems like he's hunting for fouls on threes instead of trying to make the shot

Never been a big proponent of moral victories but this game will help us down the road. Obviously Reibe is going to benefit the most.

But on the flip side Ball and AK having bad games is not ideal.

We almost beat them and we played poorly with two starters out of the game and two of our major role players having bad games. You see the difference between role players and go to star players.

I think we will see Reibe for two years but by the end of next year I think he is a monster and going to the NBA. But pairing him now as Reed’s back up is going to give us a big edge on most teams at the center position.

I guess we won’t be seeing much from Furphy this year, I liked what I saw of him during the FIFA games but he must not be practicing too well. Has to be defense as the player I have seen has a high BBIQ offensively.

This game reinforced two things to me is that we are better defensively and we will be very good this year if we can get and stay healthy.

The Bradley miss and we couldn’t get the rebound and their big got an easy out back. Then the Demery has the biggest turnover of the game. That was it.

What was our FG and FT % tonight? That’s the difference. Couldn’t shoot a fish in a barrel

Incredibly disappointed that we couldn’t hold that lead which the guys fought so hard to regain. If only Stewart didn’t lose that defensive rebound while we were up. But… to ight showed me that with a complete team on the floor, we handle Arizona.

We'll have the best team in the country when we're healthy.
