She is finally in a much better place emotionally, mentally, physically, etc. A few days ago, she was named the MVP of the WPBA, for the champion Oakland Swish.Aquira, hang in there! UConn Nation is with you!
I was disappointed I could never watch her much during college, she was quite the talent coming out of HS. Good to hear she is doing better. After Baylor, had stops at LMU, Sac St, & Shawnee St., but the college life wasn't for her.
Unfortunately it is............but wow. I had just noted in the LSU thread how I try to keep up on how she's doing. Glad she was able to get out.Might be behind a pay wall, but here's a big update on her comeback: A basketball prodigy was kidnapped into sex trafficking. Now she’s making her comeback
I read the article last night and was shocked.Thje link on Rebkill by passes the paywall. Its a long shocking and horrowing article.
-----------------------------------------------I read the article last night and was shocked.
People have no concept the amount of time young kids spend on developing their BB skills today. I watched DeCosta play since she was a feshman in high school. There were articles in the Sac Bee about her athletic back ground and the time she spent on developing her skill even before she entired high school. The pressure for her was obviously overwhelming since everyone had such high expectations for her. I remember that sometimes in games she would seemingly zone out and it all becomes evident now what the cause was. This is also a great reminder that we have no idea what players are going through off the court.
Excited to see what she does in Sweden!
