Does anyone know where Uconn recruit Gandy Malou is ranked? is she climbing or falling in the rankings?
@MilfordHusky posted in a different thread that on one recruiting site, she was listed in the 20's or maybe 30's. Pretty remarkable. BTW, it wasn't "Eric's recruiting page" that ranked her. It was something like ASGR or BS - a legit service. Ken - do you recall?

I've been following her progress this season by watching a number of her games online and she has certainly improved as the season advanced, but she is still very much a work in progress.........she's athletic and runs the floor well for a 6'5" post and has started to improve her footwork down low but hasn't shown much offensively other than layups.........I'm looking forward to seeing what continued work over the summer and next season will bring in terms of her skills development.......

Here's the ASGR list for 2025. Notables:

#7 McGaughey

#13 Fisher

#26 Malou-Mamel

#28 Macy

BTW, for 2024, ASGR has:

#1 Strong

#7 Ziebell

#16 Cheli

#30 Emely Rodriguez--nice!

Gandy has had only one AAU season that was before her in-season improvement. I’m hearing the improvement is pretty dramatic.

Here’s an article that gives her final stats - GSB Girl’s Basketball Closes Out Impressive 24-Win Season as Top 10 Team in New Jersey
This is a very nice read about GSB WBB (Gill St Bernard's, N.J.). Gandy Malou-Mamel is in the class of 2025. The second junior that
was mentioned, Ms. Sidney Quinn is the daughter of Gandy's surrogate parents in the USA. Ms. Quinn
is headed to NAVY (Patriot League) for Basketball and ?? Lacrosse. Their " mother" was a Division I player at Colgate U (Patriot League) 1994 - 1998.

Write up on Gandy from ASGR - really nice stuff, and the result of lots of hard work on her part:

Allie Ziebel and Morgan Cheli made MaxPreps's All-America third team.

Among UConn POI, Dee Alexander and Kaleena Smith made teams and Olivia Vukosa, Jacey Abii, Jerzy Robinson, Brihanna Crittendon, and Saniyah Hall were honorable mentions.

Saw this earlier. Kinda insane how Sarah didn’t make any of the teams or wasn’t listed as an honorable mention. A huge omission.

She may not be eligible due to her school being private. That's my guess anyway.

Sarah Strong the unicorn:

Coach Chad Revelle isn’t afraid to take big swings when he describes Sarah Strong. After three seasons coaching the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2024, he’s comfortable making analogies to Hall of Famer Magic Johnson, two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic.

But his favorite comparison for his star forward at Grace Christian School in Sanford, North Carolina, doesn’t even exist.

“She’s a unicorn, and that’s not just my quote. Other college coaches have made that comment to me, everybody that sees her (does),” Revelle said. “She’s a unicorn because she has such a complete skillset … And her competitive edge, I’ve never coached a player that has the ability to lock in like she does when it’s time to get after it. She takes over.”

More from the above article on Strong:

Revelle also describes Strong with uncanny similarities to the way Auriemma does superstar Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2020: Unselfish on the court, sometimes to a fault, and thrives in an environment where she functions as a piece of a team.

“I remember my first year seeing that she was an absolute bucket — I mean, she could score at will — and I literally had to tell this kid one time, ‘Hey Sarah, you know you can score right?'” Revelle said with a laugh. “Those types of kids understand the greater why, that it’s more than just me. It’s just getting them comfortable and going hey, we believe in you and believe in your skill set … You are special, so pick and choose your moments.”
