Am I seeing this right? AP top 25... only 2 remain undefeated... and they are...?
... both coached by UConn program coaches!

Four teams, Texas Tech is also currently undefeated.Am I seeing this right? AP top 25... only 2 remain undefeated... and they are...?

LSU has played Duke and Kentucky as well, one a win, one a lossI mean, yes it was a nice win for Vanderbilt AT HOME but this is the only Top 44 team that Vanderbilt has faced.
ND better get back in the top 25 before we play them.
Oh well.No chance of that happening. They have two more losses upcoming before then
Congrats on a nice win yesterday, one of the best wins of the year nationwide.
Reminds me of probability: Is the event independent of other events or are all the events dependent on each other. Ex. coin flip- after 100 consecutive heads, what is the probability that the next toss will be heads? Answer- still 50% (often tricks kids)
Sorry, the poll is a ranking based on performance in all contests. No forgiveness for all of those dismal early losses. But as bad as WCBB is outside the top 25, Duke should inch its way to respectability soon enough.
Sounds like my luck with gift cards. Tonight- Minnesota over Michigan.I was pretty confident that we would win vs ND .. to the point that I downloaded and joined an online betting app just so I could win me some lunch money on that game. I won, but unfortunately my lunch ended up being more than my earnings ☹️
They had extra votes leftover so, they gave them to Duke. As far as the huntee word is concerned, it is about as real as Duke's team is. No emoji available.Me: Duke only got three votes, bunch of numbskull voters
Also Me: Love Duke being unranked, we play better being the hunter as opposed to the huntee (not even sure if that's a real word)
Well, we'll find out tomorrow. I'm not a betting person, however I almost guarantee that there will be howls from certain fan basesif those were the final committee rankings, might see this bracket:
1 UConn - 7 Van -- 9 Mich -- 16 Bay
2 Texas - 8 Md --- 10 Lou -- 15 MichSt
3 SCar -- 6 Ky --- 11 IaSt - 14 Iowa
4 UCLA -- 5 Okla - 12 LSU -- 13 TCU
I wonder what Mich. State did to deserve 9 places jump (24 to 15).
They beat Ole Miss, who was ranked higher, by 15+ points before the holidays. They also beat Illinois yesterday who recently upset Maryland. They also beat Indiana and Rutgers, but I don't think those wins carry the same weight. Some glitter never rubs off it seems.
An underwhelming win against Mississippi can do that. They looked pretty solid against Baylor, but they struggled to beat Ole Miss.Pretty much every week TX loses 1st place votes to the Huskies. The Longhorns are now down to 4 x 1st place votes with the Huskies having the other 28.
What is nice is that there are three UConn coached teams in the top 25. With Princeton making the top 25 that’s Shea and Carla Berube. However, I believe there are four undefeated teams; UConn, Texas, vanderbilt, and Texas Tech.Am I seeing this right? AP top 25... only 2 remain undefeated... and they are...?
... both coached by UConn program coaches!
Highest Vandy ranking since the 2007 season, when Melanie Balcomb was coach.I assume this is the highest ranking of Shea's career?
Thanks for doing this. Very much appreciated. Like your avatar also.![]()

WAB (Wins Above Bubble) is a relatively new metric that the stat nerds have come up with to confuse everyone. Similar to WAR (Wins Above Replacement) in baseball, it measures the performance of a particular team against an “average NCAA bubble team with the same schedule.”Can anyone explain the WAB? This is a new one for me. The rankings are quite wonky.
WAB is a Torvik metric that is included in the NCAAT selection committee’s dashboard which each member receives. Can anyone explain the WAB? This is a new one for me. The rankings are quite wonky.
I was afraid of this……You just gave me a headache…….🤕WAB is a Torvik metric that is included in the NCAAT selection committee’s dashboard which each member receives.
It is defined as OlDude says. The NCAA’s SOS has a similar calculation as WAB.
The calculations are straightforward with the way Pythagorean Expectation methods (which NET and Torvik are) use probabilities.
- The bubble team is a specifically-defined team in terms of (NET) ranking, typically 45.
