AP Top 25 Week 20 UConn still #3

Half of the 32 voters have the exact same rankings as the previous week.

Florida State loses to 14th ranked North Carolina, Creighton loses to #3 UCONN.
But Florida State moves up ahead of Creighton.
Does this make sense?

A lot doesn't make sense in the brackets. As they try to explain why certain things were done all they did was confuse how decisions were made. They claim that they use the .Net system to make decisions. Who is #1 there? UConn of course. So obviously they did not use that to influence their seeding. In my view they should stop trying to find some system to get the seedings better and just admit it is either done by people who are not the best suited for the job or they seeds based on their gut feelings. I personally believe the whole bracket got totally messed up by giving UCLA the #! seed instead of South Carolina. That turned out forcing west coast teams to come east and east coast teams to go west. That hurts many teams.

I’d say the most fateful decisions were about the sides of the bracket rather than particular seeds. And this isn’t necessarily a fairness issue. But it predetermines a lot of things. Texas SC ND are on one side, UCLA USC UConn NC St are on the other. These are very competitive groups and any one of these teams could come out on top. They’ve all shown they can be beaten and can also dominate. We won’t get to see a UConn-UCLA final or an SC-ND final. Those could have been cool results to see.

Duke finishes at #7 , gets a #2 seed.... With zero players sniffing a all-american vote

Is this your data work or are there available for other weeks as well somewhere? Thanks in advance! :)
I generated the report based on individual voting shown for the most recent week here. I have a spreadsheet with data for the last 4 weeks (Week 17 to Week 20). Happy to create same format for previous weeks, if link to the data can be provided.

Previous posts: Week 18 & Week 19.

Still ranked #3. And a #2 seed.
Once again, the polls have zero effect on seeding.

Florida State loses to 14th ranked North Carolina, Creighton loses to #3 UCONN.
But Florida State moves up ahead of Creighton.
Does this make sense?
Because seedings are based on the season’s results, not one or two games. The ACC is a stronger conference that offers games against better teams than the Big East does

I wasn't questioning the seedings. I was wondering how Florida State jumped ahead of Creighton in the AP poll after they lost to 14th ranked NC when Creighton lost to #3 UCONN.

Maybe because some of the voters noticed that Creighton narrowly avoided a terrible loss to Georgetown? And/or the fact that Creighton was uncompetitive in its loss to UConn while Florida State was highly competitive in its loss to UNC? And/or the fact that Florida State's win over Notre Dame is still fresh in the memory? Lots of possibilities.
