New Year’s Eve games are cursed for this program. Tough loss @ Xavier, but a good win vs Nova shouldn’t harm us too much

Top 10 teams with losses this week:
#2 UConn v #22 Xavier

Here are some public AP ballots for week 9: (Last week's rank in parentheses).
Jon Rothstein: 3 (2)
Jerry Carino: 2 (2)
Clayton Collier: 2 (1)
Mark Berman: 2 (2)
Dave Borges: 2 (1)
Chris Murray: 2 (2)
Todd Golden: 5 (2)
Dave Preston: 6 (2)
Rick Bozich: 5 (2)

Non-AP Analytic Sites:
Kenpom: 2 (2)
Barttorvik: 4 (2)
Evan Miya: 4 (4)
Massey: 5 (2)
Team Rankings: 3 (3)
Sagarin: 2 (1)
Haslametrics: 3 (2)

NET Rankings: 2 (1)

Prediction: UConn #5. Would be pleasantly surprised if we only drop to #4 though

Copying my earlier prediction in another thread but

My guess is 5, lost to a ranked team on the road and still 14-1. Even if every voter drops us 4 spots, by my rough math we'd be around 70 points ahead of Texas for the 5 spot. Obviously some teams may also move up, but we had a pretty big cushion above others at the #2 spot

I'm going to go with #4. If this team gets back to its identity of playing great D, rebounding and getting some points in transition they will end as a 1seed.

Some voters aren’t even dropping us which is nice to see. But yeah theres gonna be a few that probably drop us in the 6-8 range which drags us down

I'm very interested to see where Providence and Creighton slot in; would expect to see Providence around 28 and Creighton with a few receiving votes. Will be a very big week for us. At this rate Providence is Quad 1 and Creighton is just outside Quad 1 for us

Xavier only moved up to 18… not many losses in top 25 but at 12-3 that’s about right. I think top 15 may have been a stretch but when you beat #2 you should move up quite a bit. Thought it would be more.

Still good for Big East.

Marquette & Providence are receiving votes, respectfully. Need to beat Friars.

X getting no respect. Only losses to Zags, Indiana, and Duke. Should be in top 15. Their starting 5 is tough.

That could have been worse. We're getting respect for our hot start, but if we lose at Providence, the bottom may fall out.
I agree. I hope this loss doesn't stick in the teams head. They need to shake it off quick.
