Recency bias. We were #1 over Purdue and Houston a few weeks ago. All 3 teams have each lost one game since then. Only reason we fell to 3 is because we lost most recently.

Borges had them at #16
13 straight is pretty strong statement I guess. I tip my cap and welcome them despite the American…

NCAA College Basketball Rankings: AP Top 25 Basketball Poll

1. Houston 1540 (53)
2. Purdue 1460 (4)
3. UConn 1459 (5)

Nearly tied for 2nd.

5. Marquette
12. Creighton
So apparently you get more points for beating us than you lose for getting slapped around by by St John’s. Or the voting was done before Sunday’s results. I’d think the Creighton results would more or less be a wash. Also gives some credence to the theory that UConn was their Super Bowl.

Ok serious question - Who let South Florida in the AP poll?
Remember a few years back when they won two NCAA tournament games? Most random mini-run ever

I saw this in Borges' article about the #3 ranking. Wasn't aware of that.

Also, for the first time, there will be an AP Top 25 poll released the day after the national championship game.

Thought we’d fall to 2 but whatever. Just give us that 1 seed in the East.

I can't tell if this is a troll job or not.
No troll job at all. Beating UConn was viewed by the writers as a momentous enough of a feat to move up three spots, even when losing badly to St John’s for Creighton. But yet the superiority for UConn that worked for Creighton worked against UConn themselves. Let’s not forget UConn was unanimous #1 last week, and now with the same amount of losses as the other two have fallen behind them. It’s all semantics and honestly is better for Hurley to push the lack of respect to the players, but I’m just saying if beating UConn is so great bc they are great, why is them losing worthy of the fall too?
