AP Poll - Nov 25 (no panic zone)

UConn at #2 behind UCLA. :D

Again, I think the voters took the lazy way out. I am not upset that UCLA leap frogged UConn but winning at HOME is less impressive than what ND did AT USC with a depleted team.

Based on the pattern the group usually follows, it should have been
1. UConn
2. UCLA
3. ND
4. Texas
5. SCar
6. LSU
7.SoCal

UConn at #2 behind UCLA. :D

Iowa in, Baylor out.
Glad to see Iowa crack the top 25. They look improved defensively from last year (playing more man rather than zone) and their ball movement offensively has been tremendous.

The thing is, UCLA beat the pre-season #1 and became the the new #1. This isn't surprising.

The rest of the schedule for them looks pretty mild so they may not be dethroned until they meet USC (twice) in Feb and March. Can Indiana or tOSU or Illinois or MD going to topple them? Minnesota? None of these would be impossible, but they'd be serious upsets.

I can live with that. It's only a matter of time before Uconn is NO.1. This is Uconn's year and all the pretenders will fall one by one until we win NO.12.l GO FRESHMEN!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!
I'm inclined to agree. I view early season polls as essentially bulletin board fodder.

Also when we beat North Carolina they were actually number 14 at the time. I count that as a very good road win.
Wasn’t it technically a neutral court? At least that’s how the committee will classify it when determining Quad wins. Moot point as I doubt UNC would fall below 50 in the net.

Is there a reason this time of year (if ever) to care about polls? FWIW. I was at the UCLA game yesterday. They are good no doubt. and put SC on their heels in the 1st half. When SC figured out how to defend them it was pretty even with a slight edge to SC. So many competitive teams now should make for an interesting NCAA tournament.

Barring a late game collapse, UNC is a little over a quarter away from winning Battle 4 Atlantis and have played lights out defense in the tournament. I was a little disappointed that UConn let them back in the game after being up 22 but that was a good team that UConn beat in their own state.
No issue with UCLA being #1 and would have also been OK with ND being #2 after the impressive wins both had over the weekend. But it seems the win over UNC is being underrated by some.

This is the correct ranking.
UCLA deserves to be #1 after demolishing SC.
There was talk that Notre Dame might jump over UCONN, but a #5 beating a #3 doesn't merit the #2 team getting demoted. UCONN deserves to stay at #2.
The rankings will change all season as top teams play each other with gruelling non- conference schedules.

Considering that the UCONN loss is their only loss, and that UNC is currently wiping up the floor with a decent Indiana squad, that's a good win for the Huskies.

I just don't understand why Michigan and Vanderbilt aren't ranked with who is in the 20-25 group.

I watched ND beat USC on Saturday, and UCLA's big win on Sunday. I guarantee you that Geno and CD are thinking about other things than the rankings right now.

As a UConn fan I am not upset with the fact that UCLA has jumped to the #1 spot in the rankings at this point in the season. Nor would I be too upset, if I were a Longhorn fan. They actually dropped a spot for doing nothing but posting a 42-point margin of victory in their game. Now mind you, if they had won by 50, that truly would have been reason to be upset with a drop! ;)
