UConn stays at #7. Not a lot of significant movement, except Cal down 4 spots to #24.

OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES: - Florida St. 18, Vanderbilt 18, Mississippi 14, Harvard 10, Minnesota 7, Oklahoma St. 5, Washington 2, Mississippi St. 1.

And other than UConn no other BE team in the top 25. After the Vill game it might be more productive, less expensive to travel and lot safer to play against the practice squad.

So Oklahoma lost to higher ranked #5 Texas at home and then beat #19 Tennessee on the road and dropped one spot below Ohio State, which beat Rutgers and Northwestern. Hmmm
Two losses on the season compared to no losses on the season. Maybe not right but very consistent with how they view the world in the rankings business.

And the Golden Domers picked up another 1st place vote. Hmm.
The two voters were Cassandra Negley of Yahoo Sports and Mitchell Northam of WUNC in the Triangle of North Carolina. I don't know the lone voter from last week.

According to the pull down menu of individual writer ballots on the Associated Press website Kent Youngblood of the Minneapolis Star Tribune voted South Carolina #1 so either the tallies are incorrect or the pull downs are incorrect. I think it‘s the former as Youngblood has voted the Gamecocks #1 the last few weeks.

Negley voted Notre Dame #1 last week. Northam, who covers UNC Sports, switched his #1 vote from UCLA to ND this week. Not completely surprising given the Irish road win over the Tar Heels yesterday gave them another road win over a ranked team. Last season Northam voted UCLA #1 over South Carolina after it beat USC at home giving the then 12-0 Bruins neutral site wins over Florida State, UConn, road wins over Arkansas and Ohio State and home wins over Princeton and USC.

Cassandra Negley has been voting ND #1 for quite a few polls now.

When UConn wins the national championship, these rankings will go into the dustbin of history!
