All time: Diana.

Last year: Evina.

This coming year's team: I love Caroline for what she did for us last year with her nerves of steel. After the NC State game though, where she wasn't even close to 100% from a horrible injury, it's Paige. I thought the video of her after the game with tears in her eyes telling Dorka that the team wanted to win that game for her, was so very revelatory of just what a very special person she is. We are very lucky to have her here.

Let’s face it, we love them all! But, is there any one member of the women’s team that is your favorite? For me, I’m always rooting the most for Caroline. I feel like she’s been somewhat overlooked, she had to overcome a nagging injury, she’s quiet- she’s the silent assassin!
Everyone loves Paige.
Caroline, swept me away last year. I've been a Sue Bird since she sunk a half court at half time and the buzzer beater to win the BE ? ND title game. I was on the home court to see that. Caroline, is a Sue Bird type. Sue would screw up-- then very next play she'd drill a 3, or make a steal . Caroline is just a newer, taller version of, in my opinion, one of the 3 greatest players EVER on UCWCBB teams.
The other 11 from last year are pretty special each and everyone. What a fantastic, horrible (health/injuries) year and I've been bless to have watched them. Sue a Syosset, LI NY girl played her HS ball in Middle Village, L.I. NY--my wife's home town.

I loved the way Sveta & Geno went at it, neither one would back down or back off. They brought out the best in each other IMO though- she as a player & he as a coach.
Perhaps my all-time favorite player quote: (said in a cute Russian accent) "Basketball is an easy game, coach makes it hard".

You're asking for "favorite," not "greatest," so my picks are no slam against Diana, Sue, Breanna, Rebecca, et al. (I grew up rooting for the Yankees of the '50s and '60s, and it's no slam against Yogi, Mickey and Whitey that my all-time favorite was Hank Bauer.) So my picks are the gutsy gals like Gabby, Stef Dolson, Kelly Faris, Mosqueda-Lewis, Bria Hartley, Kiah Stokes.

Great thinking! You picked all the WORKERS. Of your group Kiah Stokes is a STAR that has been overlooked. I have the same feelings for Connecticut's Own--Maria Conlon.

Paige and Caroline for me. I echo others that it's hard to dislike anyone on this team and that they all r a pleasure to watch. For me they both just really exceeded my expectations. I knew Paige was good coming out of high school but I didn't expect her to just come out and dominate. She had so many amazing performances her first year.
I didn't know much about Caroline coming in which is a shame cuz Im from MA. In any event I saw one of those HS All star games which I thought she didn't play particularly well and some of her quick stints early on in the season and thought maybe she'd need a couple years to develop. But then when she started getting minutes and of course other players got injured she really showed out. She also had a lot of memorable games this past season.

For me it's Breanna Stewart!!! She was nice enough to stop and take a picture with me in Las Vegas the day before their game against the ACE's. That game was the ACE's inaugural game in LV after relocating from San Antonio Texas. She and Alysha Clark were casually walking through the casino with several others at the Mandalay Bay resort (the arena the ACES play in is inside the hotel/casino facility) when I spotted them.

I of course recognized her (I was the only one that did) and asked her if she would mind taking a picture with a old UConn fan. I did have my UConn hat on so that helped. She obliged and was very cordial. So SHE gets my vote as MY favorite huskie of all time. BTW, she is the only husky play I've met. THAT DAY, she made a fan for life!!! :D

It's almost impossible to pick a favorite. But the one I loved the heart and dedication of was Jessica Moore. She epitomized the heart and dedication I've admired most about the UConn women. First she took a redshirt freshman year due to the composition of the team at that time. Then her last game she played in the NCAAs she was injured but continued to play to help the team. That's the kind of team dedication I appreciate from the UConn women.

I once ran into to Sue Bird eating a ice cream float at the Dairy Bar
and her hair was perfect!
She offered to sign my daughters Uconn jersey and really made a young girls day, even tho at 3 yrs old she had no idea who she was. Have to tell her tht Sue's retiring, and it's ok for her to move out and pay her own rent/mortgage.

They say Paige, Azzi, Caroline, Aaliyah and Dorka.
You know how they are. They always have an opinion about everything.

We will expect you to be consulting them on a regular basis during the season and post- season. Perhaps they can give us an early preview of the South Carolina game on February 5?

Two things I remember about that radio series --

1) Sgt Preston pounding on a door and yelling, "Open up, in the name of the Queen."

and

2) The closing line every week: "Thanks to you, King, this case is closed."

Great trivia question: What was the theme music for the show?
