Both
1. Had early season hype
2. Stumbled in late Dec/Jan/early Feb
3. Came into their own at the end of the season
4. Were underseeded.
5. Absolutely dogwalked everyone in the tournament
6. May be losing their best player, but everyone is hyped for the freshman big who shined at the end of the season and looks really legit

They were not underseeded.

Nyet- '23 men team rollercoasted all season...til last 6-games winning streak....

They were not underseeded.
hard to claim definitively that they were not underseeded. They blew out the two number 1s in the final four and ware at thE top of the metrics--NET, Bart Torvik, high in Massey. It was just the humans that said "of course we should not weight the Febraury beat down of USC very much while we should heavily weight the narrow losses to Tennessee and the real USC."

There was a real case tohave UNonn in the top fourm rather than Texas, and that the real USC was underseeded--given that the beat UCLA handily two out of three times.

I think @Vowelguy meant the men weren't under seeded that year.
