Hurley and his staff are the best in the business, this is known, but especially with the loss of Solo, I can’t shake the feeling that this roster will end up incomplete. We have a fantastic starting lineup with Landrew starting but we still need the depth especially if we catch the injury bug. I see people talking about picking up a millender type of player for a backup pg, he never got minutes, what are you talking about. Someone please calm my nerves

I've been worried every year:

2023- Could Tristan step up to a major conference and replace Cole? Could a freshman big man (Clingan) contribute? Would Sanogo be overmatched against the really big Bigs? Could Hawkins increase his scoring?
2024 - Could unheralded Cam Spencer replace Hawkins? Would Johnson be healthy? Could Clingan step up?
2025 - Mahaney assist numbers way too low. Could he really take over for Newton? Team seemed small. Could Karaban be the leading scorer?
2026 - Where would our rebounding come from? I was not sold on Reed and worried about another freshman Big playing a lot of minutes.
2027 - Depth, especially at 4/5. Rebounding again. Backup PG. Lots of shooters, but do we have anyone that can drive? And now no Ball or Karaban. Who is the true leader?

I was only really right to worry in 2025. But every issue I listed above was an area of concern - the coaches just did a phenomenal job every year. Maybe 2024 we shouldn't have worried, but Cam Spencer was a big surprise, Clingan got really good way faster than I thought, and Castle was better than advertised once healthy.

Terrified. Daily panic. This Portal season is different. We didn’t get the continuity and veterans to totally stay in place this time. That includes the Solo injury. But we did get a couple of early surprises. Usually, we’ve gotten both things to happen. Also, I think we’re currently battling against a market increase due to Reibe and Stew leaving. We’re now, more so, operating outside of the rates that we had in place and now going against what was set up by overpaying idiots. The Market skyrocketed. And I’m bothered by what some posters think iactual “Depth” is. It’s been a very eventful Portal season. Go Huskies!!!

If things don’t get better soon I’ll never watch another game until they get a real coach who
doesn’t yell at officials or curse. We need a coach who is a gentleman at all times. Winning isn’t all that important and every player needs to play every game.

I'm concerned because the roster isn't complete yet. I'm confident that Hurley will figure it out though.

Yes I am worried, but also confident that the builder will still add some pieces before the portal closes.

Relax, the core is there. Rounding it out with the right guys will take a couple weeks or more

Paul McNeil is going to be a 1st Team BE superstar
What are they doing with him the following year? He's a soph.

Not worried a bit. There are 8 rosters spots to play out between portal and international.

I’m more worried about the general panic and chaos that will ensue on the Yard when it becomes clear that Ross will start. But I’m not worried about that.
@HW611 you ready for another campaign??
This year should be easier. Kinda like the war of 1812. Ross haters are like "i'll die on this...oh forget it"

Mullins is our shooting guard.
Not sure why this is so difficult for everyone to figure out. Landrew/Ross platoon at the 3.

I'm not checking off the possibility that Hines plays a little 4. He's mobile enough, and could be useful that way with some of these FC's. Keeping an eye on the 5 quality - if they splurge, that's where it is. There ain't s@#$t left in the portal at PF unless we pay up for Graves or the Iowa St kid, ain't happening.

My guess:

Cheap shooter
Cheap PG
Cheap PF
Legit 5

That gets us to 11. Pad the back end with some euros, a third 5 in case of injury.

That’s fine but Mullins can have off nights. I’d rather have the luxury of more irons in the fire, Tristen, Cam, Alex. How many times in a game this year did we get nada from Solo, Mullins and Alex from 3 point range? More than I’m comfortable with. A guy who shoots over 40% from 3 is a guy I’d like to have.

Personally, I am not worried. There is too much needless worry generally. People now living worry that they're going to die when no one now living ever has. That is just one example.

Yep. And this lineup is based on projections. The staff expects all these guys to explode during the year.
None of our projected starters reached their potential last year:

the ceiling on each individual guy is the tallest I've seen out of a starting five (+ 2 recruits) in Storrs in decades, maybe ever.

A starting lineup of Silas, Mullins, Jayden, Khamenia, Hines looks too offensively challenged to me. There's a lot of talent there and room for offensive growth but expecting everyone to have major spikes in offensive production or two or three of them to have humongous spikes in offensive production is a gamble.

Solo is still on the team. He absolutely is still a big part of the continuity.
