They have playing Providence a lot longer than 1988.That is all factual information, I'm not sure what you wanted him to say
Providence cupboard wasn't bare with Carter and Hopkins still there.I’m not a Gus Johnson fan at all. Just call the game. Don’t need you name dropping and, at times, trying to act like Stephen A.
Well the official UConn website doesn't even count the games prior to thatThey have playing Providence a lot longer than 1988.
It sounds like you have a love/hate relationship with Gus Johnson.I am counter to most of the folks here. I love Gus. High energy, world class, builds the game up to an elite level. He brings passion.
Johnson, although he is tight with Rip, comes off as arrogant and lacks any joy for the game.
Odd discrepancyWell the official UConn website doesn't even count the games prior to that

Greatest college basketball player Gus has ever seen!Just happy we got a minimum of Clark accolades.
It is obviously an error that is/was in the stat sheet and handed to announcers. I don't think we need to cite the history here everyone on the boneyard knows. Yet if/when we are sticklers endeavoring to make 'cotrections', perhaps we should be error free in our postsOdd discrepancy
Media guide has what I assume are cotrect stats on our head to head
First game was in 1928

I find it the opposite. He was too over the top for me trying to be entertaining and just coming off as annoying while now hes toned it down a bit but im still no fan. I remember watching games where a guy would got to the basket for a layup seconds into the game and hes shouting like it was the greatest play hes ever seen. Uggh! Yeah. Not a fan.I think Gus has changed his approach. He used to be pretty straight play by play, now he seems to see himself as more of an entertainer and it often gets in the way.
Oops. "Jackson I am less fond of."It sounds like you have a love/hate relationship with Gus Johnson.
Yes!!! T tried to recall this.“A body in motion stays in motion, a body at rest stays at rest. Newton’s Lawwwwwssssssss”
This was an all time line during the game yesterday. Felt like Gus was working on getting that one in all season.
Jim Jackson knows basketball, he always seems to be a good, unbiased listen.

Couldn't disagree more, that's what makes him great and why I want him on the call for big games. His excitement automatically elevates any play like that into being even more iconic. If all you want to hear is the atmosphere and crowd cheering just go to the gameI can barely deal with Gus Johnson as a play by play announcer. He doesn't know to let the game breathe. All too often he ruins a great moment by yelling and not letting us soak in the atmosphere. I want to hear to crowd, the stunned silence for a home team that loses to a team that they were supposed to beat or the crowd roar with a buzzer beater. He just never shuts up. In my opinion he is one of the worst PBP people in sports today.
