... is anybody in the know of anything that we can deem encouraging? I know it's been pretty encouraging with the new regime in place and all... but any idea on how players are coming along? Any potential surprises on contributors? anything????? I know the kids will/should be back on campus for Summer classes in a few weeks, which means more conditioning/prepping for the season... Just wondering if there's anything more...

None. Zilch.

Charlton is using this quiet time to perfect his offensive scheme loaded with high octane chunk plays.

Lou is still burning his entire defensive play book....which has been replaced by Mora's LB heavy chaos machine.

95 days till kickoff. 95 excruciatingly long days till we finally see what Mora & Co have come up with. Man, this is going to be the longest summer ever. 95 days <8`(

Likes of sympathy for the UConn football diehards. :D
Maybe a couple of chuckles will sooth the football minds until the season begins. Very anxious myself but not wishing my New England summer to be over too soon. ;)

It grows that fast?
In some years yes. All it takes is one little rumble here and there. It should be two steps forward and one step back for another 20 million years. Although the Karakoram is actually outgrowing now it’s Himalayan neighbors.

As a matter of fact, the mountain Nanga Parbat (at the rate it is growing) which is on the border between the Himalaya’s and the Karakoram (a few hundred miles WNW of Everest) will surpass Everest in about 250,000 years and should peak out between 31,000 and 32,000 feet.

If you like history, trigonometry, geography, etc... the above is a great story about the Great Arc (trigonometric survey) of the Indian sub-continent and the Himalayas by the British Empire. Think surveying is boring? Try it over thousands of miles being attacked by tigers, elephants and bandits. A truly great adventure story that includes how Mt Everest got its name.

Man, if I had the time off I would love to go and just sit in the stands and watch the kids compete. Do they allow anyone to hang out in the seats and watch or is it restricted?
