SaturdayAny educated guesses?
I can guarantee you it will not be in 20 minutes.
^Saturday
Expecting it to be Saturday even though we will be shorthanded unless Seton Hall has issues.
Hurley said the timing of the positive tests/exposure was scattered and that some players hadn't been on a basketball court since the Marquette game, and he wasn't going to play players who had been inactive that long out of concern for injury. Why will team be shorthanded?
Not sure how Hurley is handling it but I believe Geno said 5 practices back before anyone would play. I'd imagine it's less for Hurley, but still probably need a few practices in before Saturday
Hurley has said before that players would not play unless they have practiced. If I'm not mistaken, it's not up to the coaches deciding how much they want to practice before playing. The Big East says you play if you have 7 players and a coach. Doesn't matter if you haven't practiced, the starting 5 is all sick, and the head coach is bedridden. Unless you want a forfeit.

It's still unclear to me, I thought the same thing as you and was assuming the Big East would require some kind of proof. But the way people here described it to me was that coaches just decide how many "healthy" players they have and tell the Big East we have X players available for this gameI know. And what I'm saying is I don't believe he has a choice--either play or forfeit.
^20 minutes.
I'm sure there are ways around it. Borges has said multiple times that Sanogo technically wouldn't count as a healthy player since he was on a minutes restriction recommended by the medical staff, so perhaps the medical staff requires a couple practices before giving the players the green light. It's still unclear to me, I thought the same thing as you and was assuming the Big East would require some kind of proof. I would have to see the Big East policy on if there is a mechanism of the team has had to practice once. If their isnt', I got a feeling the Big East is going to say if the players are healthy UCopnn/other teams, are going to have to play the game.Hurley has said before that players would not play unless they have practiced.
I don't think that is his choice per BE policy.Hurley has said before that players would not play unless they have practiced.

Force a forfietYeah, the conference isn't requesting medical records or working out these players to make sure who is good to go. I'm sure if a coach held 4 perfectly healthy players out just to cancel the game it would raise some eyebrows and the conference might investigate, but what could they actually do in that situation?
That's Super Sunday. It's not going to be moved.Well, just read UConn is rescheduled at Xavier on 2/11 @7pm and also has game at the Johnnies on 2/13 @noon. Would love to see the game on the 13th moved back to 6pm or 7pm but it is what it is.
One thing Hurley needs to do is lose his attitude towards playing a few guys 35 plus minutes every game. Minute management will be huge remainder of the season. Have to treat this like the BET or NCAAT where every healthy body needs to be playing every game, even if just for a few minutes. I hate doing what I am about to do, but here it goes.......fortunately Dan Hurley only needs one phone call to talk to a master of managing minutes in tournament environments (JC).
Minute management is huge and since these kids are only quasi physically ready for these short turnarounds, we can expect some unexpected non-contact injuries. Next man up not only has to be a motto, the staff has to have the "next man up" prepped by getting each "next man up' minutes every game.
