Any guess as to USF start time on 10/5 (NOTE: GAME TIME MOVED to NOON)

It conflicts with my Hartford Athletic tickets.

I figured. Which goes to show the overall state of the program, when a lifelong season ticket holder, whose travelled a bunch too, would rather watch minor league soccer than a college football game on a Saturday night in October.

And one of the worst teams in that minor soccer league, to boot.

Well, the timing will allow me to go. Do I subject myself to the embarrassment of dragging my friends to an empty Rent?

What do we expect for attendance for this one?

in dire need of blue lot parking passes for this game - please let me know if anyone has a line on any. looking for 2-4 more for our growing tailgate. can't find any for sale on secondary market.

cheers

I'll be very happy watching UConn vs South Florida on TV while at the Webster Bank Arena while the Hockey team opens their season and gets the Sacred Heart monkey off their back

South Florida game could start early due to EEE

>>UConn’s home game Saturday against South Florida at Rentschler Field, originally scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff, might be moved to earlier in the day, possibly noon, amid growing concerns over the mosquito-borne disease EEE. Athletic director David Benedict said after the Huskies’ loss at UCF that “conversations are ongoing” at the university and with American Athletic Conference representatives and others. UConn is expected to make an announcement on Sunday.<<

Of course the forecast low on Sat. morning is 42 and high Sat. is 60.. mosquito action would've been down regardless..

Smart move on a deadly virus that has no known cure or vaccine. 1/3 of the people who get it die and many of the others have lifetime brain damage. A mosquito tested positive for EEE in South Windsor last week.
Chief is tough but sometimes you need to be smart too.

Daytime games until the first frost occurs. The Navy game time looks like they are gonna have to follow things closely. Sometimes the first frost is late.

No fooling around with EEE, but what’s the likelihood CBSSN minds not having to broadcast the UConn v USF game?

:D >> A cold front is expected to reach Hartford in the middle of the week, with temperatures projected to top out in the high 50s on Saturday, according to The Weather Channel.<<

High since they bought the rights to the game with the expectation of broadcasting it.

Serious question: What happens next spring? Does Connecticut continue to be at higher risk for EEE? Does the threat die off with the current batch of live mosquitoes?

Given CBSSN’s already committed to the previously scheduled 12 ET Tulane at USMA game, perhaps they flip the games. No EEE threat a mere 100 or so miles away at West Point?

My understanding is that the current EEE 'epdidemic' will end with its host mosquitoes when they die with the first hard frost. There's a random chance that the virus could live-on if mosquites manage to fine shelter and food (people, animals) in a barn or similar structure over the winter; but, it's unlikley. The issue is that EEE will live through the winter down south (SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, etc.) and then it will find a way back North next Summer when infected animilas and people from those locations travel North and are subsequently bitten by a mosquito that then carries it to new people. It's why EEE typically does not show-up in the Northeast until the late Summer and early Fall because it takes time for that process to carry out.

I live about 30 miles from West Point across the line in Jersey, there have been cases of EEE here; but, not was widespread as CT so far.

EEE has been a concern for a few weeks. If this was a university decision, they could have let CBSSN know so they could have all available information BEFORE they set their TV schedule.

At least now I don't have a conundrum. Will miss at least the first half to watch my son run up in NH. Then I can decide as I drive home if I want to stop by or not.
