I think the feeling was if the staff prioritized him we would have as a good a chance as anyone . Based off how much time Hurley spent watching the Rens recently and the timing of this decision , it would seem they never made him that big of a priority .

The staff doesn't usually keep secrets from the boneyard insiders so the fact we had no lead up to this announcement is a little concerning. He may have literally just decided where he is going or he hasn't told the school he is committing to yet, but the timing strikes me as not UConn. We know Anglin likes UConn and the staff recruited him hard, so hoping for the best. Rankings be damned I want him.

Well I mean more from the angle of our insiders knowing he was in the bag for UConn before announcing - we had it with Floyd & Clingan for this class. Really not much on Anglin other than a lot of interest by Hurley & staff.

Sr. Gaffney, Soph Diggins, Fr Floyd, Soph Hawkins, and Andre Jackson is a lot of competition for perimeter minutes. PT is probably not an easy sell to guards at this point.

Could be, but that's still a lot of non-4s vying for minutes and all were highly recruited. Particularly compared to Georgetown, who has a potential 1 and done SG and one decent freshman PG as the only people in your way.

# of games they played in, how many times a UConn coach watched them (so if we had 3 guys at one game it's counted 3x), then how many times Dan watched them.

(5 games) Starling: 6x, Dan 2x

(8 games) Karaban: 14x, Dan 4x

(14 games) Rodgers: 10x, Dan 1x

Kimani was really the one who watched most of Anglin's games. He was alone most of the time. He's basically been on this recruitment solo it seems.

Our priorities are clearly developing a relationship with Floyd, and Karaban. Starling the most prioritized guard.

I love this kid. Disappointing if true, but I’m not complaining. We are reeling in talent like crazy. I hope we get him, but if not, we’ll get someone else with great talent.
