Wonder if a snowball effect is coming, and we're gonna see one player opt-out per day from this point on.

I am not shocked. She lost time last year as the backcourt got crowded and even without Danberry, Madison Hayes steps in and I suspect gets lots of time on day one.

Health is of the utmost importance right now and I can't say I would blame a player for taking the time off. She will likely finish her degree from MSU and perhaps play elsewhere her final season, maybe closer to home.

I'm not that surprised by this either. I like Andi a lot, but it's really crowded at the guard position. I can't see her in a starting role at all. I think she would be fighting for minutes as a backup honestly. I can understand wanting to move on with her life or grad transfer somewhere in her situation. It does hurt our depth though. I wish her well and am glad she was a Bulldog.

This isn’t a surprise. She is near graduation. I expect we will see her grad transfer or simply move on with her life.

We (High Point University) would be happy to have her. She'd be a good fit in our 3pt focused offense.

Not sure if HPU would appreciate me being a spokesman though

Her message sounds as much like a farewell to MSU as it does a sit-out announcement.

For sure. A dual opt-out and transfer announcement. Very efficient.

She probably saw limited minutes in the upcoming season and figured she might as well finish her degree, transfer close to home for her final year of eligibility and her next school will pay for a year of grad school.

I agree. It was a little surprising that she stayed. She may have thought she could get a fresh start with Coach McCray-Penson. Many MSU fans had some hard feelings that Coach Schaefer wasn’t fair to her. However unfortunately playing with such strong defenders and inside players was a perfect situation for her during her sophomore year. Without that her limitations showed and I’m sure the new staff saw that. Regardless she is still a very good player but simply wasn’t going to push out some of the newcomers. She is still an outstanding teammate and I wish her the best.

She probably intended on taking advantage of the opt-out option all along.

I'm going to assume she won't be back, but if the opt-out option was available, this was the perfect time to take advantage of it. After this year, she can go somewhere else, come back, go to law school, or whatever school, do whatever she wants with a year of play to spare once a clearer picture is revealed in 2021.

Appears she doesn’t see eye to eye on a lot of things!

Feel however you want to feel about her departure from UConn, but that was almost four years ago. Think about how you (or your kids) changed between your/their freshman and senior years of college.

From every indication, AEH seemed like a team player and one of MSU's biggest cheerleaders, despite not playing a ton of minutes. If she wants to take this mess of a season, chuck it, and get one last try as a grad transfer, more power to her.

I was absolutely joking in my comment. I have never seen a player discussed more on message boards. After almost every game last season one or often more fans on the Mississippi State message boards would question why she wasn’t playing more. As I stated above I think it was simply a talent issue but she was otherwise a great teammate and person. I wish her the best.

:D Quite a few of us already knew that. I kinda preferred it that way.

Not to belabor the issue about her initial transfer, but on a separate but related subject...

With the timing of her transfer, I think she was eligible the next semester, so with a sort of shorthanded MSU team, she got lots of minutes and was very productive, even starting most of the games she played. MSU fans thought maybe she was the 2nd coming of Victoria Vivians.

Fast forward to the next season and suddenly not only is she NOT starting, but she struggled to get minutes at all, being much less productive. Her 3 point % dropped from 42 to 26%, and even her free throw % plummeted from 82% to 67%.

I get if other players come along and are better, but she must have suffered a serious crisis of confidence to see her %'s drop by so much.

This has been coming for a while. She tweets about missing her gf all the time, Tasha Cole. Complains about campus for the last two months, complains if everyone doesn't have a mask, (she has no in person classes) so only folks she has to be around are team mates and coaches. I had to unfollow her because she has been a negative Nancy for nearly 6 months now. She used to post about her and best buddy Chloe, and that stopped last fall.

It is time she moves on, for whatever reason she has not been happy for a while.

She is in the class of 2017. If she sit another year in MSU I am not sure how much she can contribute to MSU in 2021. Best way may be do a graduate transfer.

I doubt she has a future in WNBA since she looks not happy in any school she stays.

There goes the possible game with AEH going up against her old Collegiate Coach in Geno, and her old HS Teammate in Aubrey Griffin
