But, seriously, colors influence people in many ways and this kid is simply being honest (assuming the story is accurate). At age 7, I saw my first game at Ebbets Field and fell in love with Dodger blue. Later, in 1958, I became a Baltimore Colts fan because their uniforms had similar colors. Although I remained with the Dodgers in their move to LA (and thankfully their uniforms have never changed their basic design and colors), I was not able to follow the Colts to Indianapolis (where?).

While I'm not a big fan of Baylor for a variety of reasons, I think green and gold looks pretty good on the Oakland A's. The Baylor shoes, though, look pretty awful.
