And then there were fewer: Sunday in conference tourneys

Yeah just checked Stanford's schedule, they are 27-5 and beat Texas head to head. Losses are Oregon St 2 times, at UCLA, at Tennessee, Gonzaga.

I gotta figure it's gonna be:

1 seeds- UConn, Baylor, Notre Dame, South Carolina

2 seeds- (unclear order at this point) Oregon State, Maryland, Mississippi State, Stanford

3 seeds- Duke, Texas, Washington, Florida State

4 seeds- Louisville, UCLA, Kentucky, Depaul or NC State or Miami

Even is OSU loses to Stanford, I can't see their reward being placed in UCONN's bracket? OSU will either be in South Carolina's bracket or Baylor's bracket. If Maryland loses this current game vs Purdue, Stanford could get the final #2 seed.

And if Maryland wins, who are your #2 seeds? Miss St, Ore St, Md, and ... ?

We could get Stanford as our 2 seed.

That's my thinking. Then Duke as the #3 and the last host (DePaul?) as the 4.

Remember that every top 4 will have 1 ACC and 1 PAC team. So if Maryland is in UConn's bracket, you guarantee that the #4 seed will be UCLA or Louisville. Those are the stronger 4 seeds. Not sure committee will do that.

What are Stanford's stats vs Texas?

Stanford won the head-to-head, but that was 1 of only 2 wins over the RPI top 25. Texas has 6 top-25 wins.

I think it'll come down to whether Stanford wins this game tonight.

Brenda at the half- "They are allowing the game to be physical..."

ASweet- Players are barely playing any D or putting bodies on anyone?

I would look forward to a Sweet 16 match-up between UConn & UCLA. On paper at least, sounds like a track meet of a game.

Yes, and UConn would destroy UCLA in the process.

Billings is fun to watch for her athleticism, however.

They need to send Louisville to Bridgeport. Send Duke to Stockton. Just my opinion.

Think about this:

How much would the Big10 suck if Maryland had not joined?

That would be some heavy suction.

The thing that drags down the Big Ten in conferencewide metrics is their bottom 4 of Rutgers-IL-WI-NE, which are all just bad.

Everyone else from #3 to #10 comprises a dull and mushy middle.

Like a custard filled donut? Is that better than a regular donut?

Brionna Jones had 27 points (11-of-13), 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Maryland wins.

South Florida is up by 8 over Temple with 5:00 to play. Temple is suffering from some cold shooting.

Oregon St. has started 5-5 from the floor and is up 11-3 over Stanford. They are dangerous when they shoot well. Wiese hasn't even attempted a shot yet, the other 4 starters have all scored.

16-3 OSU at the 4:24 mark. 7-9 from the floor. Wiese still hasn't scored. Stanford has 4 TO's and 1-5 from the floor.

Good gosh Temple.. Can't even beat South Florida

Stanford got a shot right at/after the 1st quarter buzzer, being reviewed. Will be trailing either 22-12 or 22-14. Seems like the deficit should be much more than that. Gulic has 8 and Pivec has 6 (but 2 fouls) for OSU. Karlie and Alanna Smith both have 5 for the Card.

I got a feeling Stanford will come back and make it a competitive.. Possibly nail biting game. Ive seen too many Pac 12 games this year to think otherwise

OSU is cooling off (10-18 after starting out 8-10) and Stanford is creeping back in it. 24-16. Smith has been huge off the bench for Stanford, has 9 points. Only 2 other players have scored for the Card.

OSU is 2 for their last 11. Stanford still shooting poorly overall but has closed to 24-20.

God awful 2nd quarter, but McPhee got a crazy shot in the key to go in, then Wiese raced down court and banked in a 3 at the buzzer. Stanford outscored OSU 11-7 in the quarter, OSU leads 29-23 at the half. Not surprising this is an ugly game between these 2.

A track meet to see in which quarter UConn fans qualify for Buffalo Wild Wings

OSU has scored almost as many points in the first 1:45 of the 3rd quarter (5) as they did the entire 2nd quarter (7). Smith started the half and continues to be the only player doing anything for Stanford.

Now the Beavers can't score again. Leading 34-30 about midway thru the 3rd quarter. Smith has 16 for Stanford, more than twice her season average.
