In term of dollars, the ACC/Maryland case is a draw. The ACC and Big 12 GORs were not really supported or challenged. The Big Ten legal team can take the Maryland battle out of their mindsets. Now they have more resources to think who the candidate schools are, with UConn an obvious bride-in-waiting.
If there is a school, by remote possibility in the ACC that thinks that $31 million isn't bad because they think that they can beat the GOR, then that school many now come out. If no ACC school is encouraged, the Big Ten may focus outside the ACC and waiting, on Missouri, Vanderbilt or Buffalo for possible consideration.
In short, it was no secret that the Big Ten wanted at least 2 ACC schools, or possibly one with UConn. If the ACC is now a totally uniformed, locked safe box, I expect exploratory overtures leaking out from schools that one might not have previously taken seriously.
