This is what I like from the article:

"You don't play to lose games," said Shabazz Napier, who made the Big East honor roll after finishing with 19 points, six assists and five rebounds in the game. "It probably hasn't hit a lot of guys that we're almost done. I think the guys understand that we're doing this for something bigger. We're doing this to get ready for next year. To get to the NCAA next year. It's tough not getting in this year, but this year is going to help us be stronger next year. To understand that, if we can fight through the things we're fighting through now, next year's going to be so much easier, because we're going to have a lot of guys still here."

I hope Bazz means it.........his return is really the key to next years team and Boat too. Hoping everyone hurts when they watch March Madness and as soon as the season ends hits the weight room with a chip on their shoulder!!

Napier is going to go down as one of my absolute favorites ever. Incredibly loyal to the program and has never missed a game in spite of probably being injured in 50% of his career games so far.

If this is him saying he'll be here next year that's fantastic.

+1 who knows where we would be this year without him. He is already in my top 5 favorite Huskies ever, but on his way to number 2 if he comes back. He has been the most loyal player this program has ever seen, and thats not a knock on guys like Boatright. I'm rooting for him to take Kemba's spot at top but that will take a POY effort and National championship to do it :). I'd love to see Bazz be the first Husky to win 2 NC's - the kid deserves it. Thank God we missed out on Selby, Knight, and Joseph

I thought Shabazz was going to be the one to win two titles after 2011 and then disaster struck. Hopefully they could get one more recruit for next season to increase the teams chances.

Assuming everyone comes back we will be in the title hunt next year...

Hearing that is like rubbing salt into the wound. I dont think anybody will really get over this whole missing the tournament because of the APR but if something special happens next year, i think when we look back on this period of UConn basketball it will hurt a lot less.

Now what would be really funny would be if Kentucky got the final at large spot UConn otherwise would have had. And by funny I mean it would be like getting your man section torn apart by a guard dog.

This is the probably least talented UConn team since Calhoun's first year.
I'm awed by this teams performance to this point.
I give Ollie the credit for being the glue.
Missing the NCAA's was only part of the problem.
300 teams miss it every year.
The ojective was to destroy us or at least hurt us for years to come.
Who knows how close they came to succeeding.
If Bazz left they may have got their wish.
Like Churchill said about the RAF in the battle of Britain "Never have so many owed so much to so few"
Huskie nation owes a great debt to this team and the Rev. Ollie.
If this team can hold it together for the rest of the year they will be right up there with the ,NIT Champs , the the dream team the we shocked the world team,or even the 11 wins in a row team.
They don't play for glory like those teams but for survival of a great basketball tradition.
This is the Little Engine that Could Team
