Take out UCF and the old Big East 8 was a much tougher league top to bottom. There was no clear top program, but there were also no bottom-dwellers. Similar to old Big East basketball, anyone could beat you on any given night.

I fearlessly predict these comments wont age well. That something that is easy to say in August on the eve of a new season armed with new players, new coaches and new attitude.

Same narrative over and over. UConn is the one school in the AAC that couldn't possibly recruit good football players. Too hard to get kids to go to the only school in the conference with a long term track record of putting guys in the NFL, great facilities and an actual national brand name. Impossible. No one could do it.

I just hate that narrative. It is a constant attempt to try to convince players and coaches that the likelihood of UConn being good is slim now or ever. However, this is often said by people at schools that have never done squat.

They are going to jam the ball into the line with two mediocre backs and a middling offensive line. The tight end and receivers aren’t even CAA quality. They might have the worst quarterbacks assembled in FBS.

The roster is a barren wasteland and they will hope to beat Wagner, UMass and catch someone sleeping to go 3-9. They are going to get dismantled by every team with a pulse.

Because it was turned into a tough job by an inept AD. We had every opportunity to remain a perfectly competent program when Edsall left. Yes, its tough now, fine. It shouldn't be.

Which is tougher....Temple or UConn? Temple has a better recruiting area....but that's about it. Why have they been able to crack the code?
