So best players* coming into the league next year (freshman):
#1 James Wiseman - Memphis
#47 DJ Jeffries - Memphis
#70 James Bouknight - Connecticut
#87 Akok Akok - Connecticut
#100 Jalen Gaffney - Connecticut
#116 Tyson Etienne - Wichita State
#134 Damion Buagh - Memphis
#138 Malcom Dandridge - Memphis
#161 Samari Curtis - Cincinnati
#193 Caleb Mills - Houston

*By recruiting rankings

There's 10 there and I only picked top 200 recruits. So I'd say there's a pretty damn good chance it comes from UConn or Memphis.
Akok Akok is not ranked #87.

Rivals moved him off of their 2018 list so he’s treated as unranked by them in the composite. So his composite rank is 87 while missing about 1/3 of his grade.
Is the composite score really that dumb? Recruiting rankings are mostly a crapshoot anyways.

Yes but he was in the 70-80 range until the final weekend of the third live period when he went off and hit a bunch of 3s in front of Evan Daniels who shot him up to a 5 Star the next day. His real ranking is probably somewhere in between.

Yes it is. This is how Andre Drummond ends up ranked 84th when nobody had him ranked outside of the top 2.

His ranking is based on potential like many kids' are.

Regardless, he is not ranked 87th as the person he was responding to wrote.

To be fair, it was more than him just hitting threes - he was a defensive beast that weekend too. All three recruiting services gave him a gracious bump, too. 247 had him at 25, Rivals at 29 and ESPN at 39.

It's like, 90% going to be Wiseman. The dude is going to be our worst nightmare next season.
