Since we're all feeling good about UConn and 'The American' ...thought it'd be nice to take a look at some bowl game opportunities there for the taking. Other than playing for the NC...here's the list. (Oops if this was posted previously, I haven't been to the BY in a while.)

Assuming that the AAC can take/fill all of these bowl games, I really like what I see in terms of opportunities to prove that we belong:

2 vs. SEC
1 vs. Big12
2 vs. ACC
1 vs. C-USA

Those are some nice opportunities to beat some of the "Power 5", including an additional automatic BCS qualifier this year as well...

One nice thing about being a non-major is that instead of being a BE team stuck playing lousy non-BCS opponents, we'll be the lousy opponent playing against BCS teams

Some would argue that we've been the lousy opponent from a non-deserving, lousy BCS conference. I agree the opportunity is there as long as the teams proving we belong are not the two leaving next year. Otherwise we're only going to hear how right they were for leaving the rest of us behind.

This is a nice bowl slate for us. 2 Florida bowls, 4 Saturday bowls and the weekday bowls are adjacent to holiday/weekends. Mostly BCS opponents. I have a goodwill token with my wife saved up from last year that I'm hoping to use. Here's to hoping.

Some of those bowls are already filled so there's no chance of that happening (Pinstripe, Russell Athletic - possibly others). There's another thread where we were going over the realistic bowl prospects of the AAC.

You may be confused with next years contract. Theses bowls are still open to us this year.

Ah - sorry, I thought this was talking about the future bowl line-up, not this season.

...isn't Liberty AAC vs C-USA/SEC and not AAC/C-USA vs SEC though?

I thought we were all working under the assumption that after this year we'll need to look at this website to figure out our bowl possibilities

It might be wishful thinking, but I'm taking the AAC one season at a time.

That's not wishful thinking, it's willful delusion.
