I agree, they make me nervous, especially the one at Vanderbilt.IMO, it's a safety hazzard. I think it also hurts shooting percentages.
Idiot announcer said 6 feet but it's clearly not six feet. The teams are sitting in chairs and you can see them from the chest up. If it were 6 feet, that means everyone would have to stand to see and smaller guards wouldn't be able to.If a player dives off the court for a loose ball and the vertical drop is truly six feet, ankle and knee injuries will be the minor risk. Head Vs. Hard surface (leg of table, stair step, corner of chair etc) from a dive at full speed witha six foot drop will result in a serious and potentially fatal head injury
