IMO, it's a safety hazzard. I think it also hurts shooting percentages.

I don't know if a raised floor hurts shooting percentages, but a dome sure does.

Yeah, I don't like that they potentially alter the game for the sake of more seats. That's the NCAA's singular motivation, however.

I agree that domes can effect shooting, but at least most players have played in a dome. Few, if any, have played on a raised platform. Seems as if it creates a false horizon. Players are used to seeing their bench at floor level, not below the floor. I also think we're going to see a serious knee or ankle injury someday as a result of the raised platform. Why change the playing field for the Final FOur, it makes no sense. Whatever additional revenue is generated hardly justifies degrading the product and exposing elite athletes to injury.

If a player dives off the court for a loose ball and the vertical drop is truly six feet, ankle and knee injuries will be the minor risk. Head Vs. Hard surface (leg of table, stair step, corner of chair etc) from a dive at full speed witha six foot drop will result in a serious and potentially fatal head injury

Idiot announcer said 6 feet but it's clearly not six feet. The teams are sitting in chairs and you can see them from the chest up. If it were 6 feet, that means everyone would have to stand to see and smaller guards wouldn't be able to.

I agree, I can totally see a player trying to save a loose ball and twisting an ankle or blowing a knee because of the raised floor. The shooting % I think is just a product of the venue in general.
