96-99 The Jungle (Litchfield)
00-01 Willington Oaks

So the frats were next to North? I was the first class with with the new Northwest and it was all freshmen, there wasn't even grass on the quad yet. I guess it makes sense that it is not only freshmen anymore since it is one of the nicer dorms and that is unfair to everyone else. I lived in New London for a year and no one really called it the jungle, I guess the name just died off.

Northwest Batterson 2000-01
North New London 2001-2002
Carriage House 2002-2004

I was in the same class, and absolutely everyone I knew called it the Jungle whether they lived there or not.

Fr. - towers (Sousa)
So. - west (Shakespeare)
Jr. & Sr.1 - hunting lodge
Sr.2 - carriage (only one semester until I finished, then just weekends)

2006-2010
FR - Hilltop (Ellsworth)
SOPH - North
JUNIOR/SR - Off-campus, hunting lodge

Lafayette '73, '74, '75,
Lancaster '76
Barbara manor '77

Jungle- Hartford Hall 72-73
Stowe A 73-74 and half of 74-75.
then Woodhaven Apts.

.-.
Do all the interior doors at hunting lodge still latch with magnets? That place was a dump but I had the best 6 months of my life in that apartment.

Took fall 2004 off for military training.

2005-06 (sophomore) - Belden
2006-07 (junior) - Hilltop dorms
2007-08 (senior) - Norwegian Woods

04-05: Northwest-Russell. Only experience with a co-ed floor, good times.
05-06: North-New London. Had a room that was 3-feet wider than all the other rooms. Made a huge difference. I lived in one of the only two rooms with sophomores instead of freshmen, which ended up being pretty fun. Excellent time in the Jungle.
06-07: Hilltop-Ellsworth. Hated it. Awful roommate and dining hall sucked. Winter wind was abrasive.
07-08: East-Whitney. Absolutely loved it. Was a single in a double room that faced Horsebarn Hill. I was older than my RA and most of my dorm went away for the weekend, so I basically had free reign. The dining hall was amazing. Awesome memories. For current students, I highly recommend living here once you already have a group of friends established. Not a good place to live to meet friends, but I didn't care when I was a senior.

this is an interesting thread to read!

2011 - i lived in new london, our entire floor got demolished after the men won the championship (torn out ceiling and drywall, smashed lightbulbs, **** and piss all over the floors)

2012/13/14 - i moved off campus to willimantic may of 2012 in search of cheap rent. i lived on the corner of ash & jackson for a year and a half and then on walnut street for two more. i loved it!

had a friend who lived in the nathan hale for a semester, which ruled. unlimited pool access, plus someone to clean your room for you! i imagine it was expensive as hell though.

Stowe B (old South campus) all 4 yrs ('81-'85) - had a great time! no basketball players any of my yrs but did have 2 soccer stars for one yr in Kieran Coffey and Eric Myren.

My freshman year we were named "party dorm of the year" by one of the frats (although I did little to help the effort...) The frat would have brothers visit parties all over campus every Thurs. night and assign a points system to pick a winner at year end. Back then the drinking age was 18 and kegs were free-flowing in what seemed like most every dorm lounge most Thurs. nights.
I think the year before you moved in was the Stowe "End of the World" party, which was epic. Was Stowe co-ed when you were there?

.-.
Attended 08-12.

Freshman year I was in North (maybe New London, can't remember). I'm pretty sure my room used to be a storage area on the ground floor. Huge benefits in that there were only 4 doubles on the floor so it was only 8 guys sharing the floors bathroom. Plus we got lumped in with the floor above us with regards to the RA so I only saw him twice all year.

Sophomore: Alumni (Eddy)

Junior: Garrigus Suites (I think formerly known simply as the Hilltop Suites)

Senior: Hilltop Apartments. I wanna say Crawford was the building but I'm not positive.

01-02, 02-03 I lived in Alsop in West. I used to bump into Emeka and Ben all the time because they lived in the next building over. Moved off campus after that. They year I spent at Willington Oaks was probably the greatest year of my life, aside from the bad grades.
01-02/02-03, lived in Alsop (The International Dorm!) at West. Moved off-campus to a place on Gurleyville Road after that, followed by a move to Willington Oaks, which was awesome.
Good to see your story remains consistent from year to year.

How the hell did this year-old thread get revived?

I'd forgotten I posted here in this thread. I read my old post and thought to myself, "Hey this guy lived in my dorm when I did! ... wait....oh."

'02-'06 here. Started out in Hartford Hall freshman year (pretty mild, only a few dislodged water coolers here and there), then soph year in Buckley. Had friends in McMahon then and that dorm tended to attract people who enjoyed pulling fire alarms at 3 in the morning.

Second the recommendation for current students to look at the singles in East. Had one in Holcomb my last two years and it was awesome to get a break from clubs and parties and my then-boyfriend's room in Husky Village. Nice common area, too.

Husky Village is a weird place. When I was there they *just* built them and, ahem, had issues with staying up to fire code. Had random pledges singing and whatnot in that central courtyard area.

Everything was on fire during the '04 dual championship run. Just...all of it. The emergency maintenance crew is just not paid enough.
