Kind of, I knew I wasn't gonna get a true quality center so I waited on that till the end.
 
I really like my team, but I'm also interested in reading everyone's strategy. Mine will probably be a lot of rambling...

When there is one pick every couple of days, it's kind of hard to build momentum. That and some of the Looney Tunes choices.

I just hope that when the commentary is revealed, my picks fall into the categories of "Obvious", "Savvy", or "Outside-the-Box-Interesting", rather than "Looney Tunes".
 
This draft is really driving home how lucky we've been as a fanbase over the past 25 years especially, but close to 40 years overall.

There are still a few guys out there who had tremendous careers, and were drafted by/played in the NBA afterward, who haven't been picked. There are multiple glue guys, 3-point specialists, and all-around contributors who haven't been picked.

And for the most part, it's not crazy that they haven't been. We've just been that good.

I wish we could do 8 rounds.

The thread itself isn't that exciting. It's 6 pages, but half of that is bitching about how long the draft is taking. The best part will be the discussion post draft on the main board.

Toughest thing to evaluate is some of the older guys matchup-wise. Most of us haven't seen the Wes B for example.

You won't be the first one on the block. Someone else has the pole position there.

The wait between picks is interminable, but this is a reasonable amount of time for an online draft.

Also, I need a backup big man. I don't believe in this Phil Martelli short bench bullsh!t.
 
Once each game is done I intend to create a worst pick thread and the best value pick thread for each game.
 
It would have been easier if I just tried to tank my team and take Jonathon Mandeldove with my first pick.

Any pick that's already made should be open to discussion/flaming, not gonna change anything at this point.

Things can be 'corrected' you see. Don't want to tell someone where they screwed up. They have to figure it out for themselves.

In reality it's all going to be anticlimactic, but oh well.

Once the pick is made they're stuck with it. Not sure what gaping holes are going to be corrected this late in the game.

The biggest reason it's private is because we say things like 'why hasn't player x been selected yet?' and there's no reason to affect the draft with people reading that.

That said, some of you have made some really stupid picks.....

I love this line....clearly the people in the private thread would draft perfect teams right? I'm sure some of my picks have been criticized but I really don't care. I just find it funny when people who aren't participating like to call some people's picks stupid. Can't wait to see what the BY "Experts" have to say!

While I think there have been some odd picks throughout (and some may think I am guilty of that as well), I think there's some of this that is true: everyone has a plan until they're punched in the mouth. The original vision of my team changed significantly, even in the later rounds--hell, before one pick, I had 3 players who could do what I wanted with 4 people before me...and they were all gone.

What's interesting to me is how different each draft it. I look forward to putting forward the case for my team.
