So it is clear from the horse's own mouth that at least a couple of schools continued to recruit him despite his oral commitment to UCONN. Suprised? I guess I should not be
That's how it works nowadays. Was always that way in football and basketball is following suit.

Also from TOS:

One thing he did tell me that stood out to me was this:

"The UConn staff is the staff I have the best relationship with and I still could end up there. Kevin Ollie was disappointed but said he understood. He said he would still recruit me and that when all is said and done he expects that I'll be coming to Connecticut."

He also told me that UConn was his top school. I don't think he said those exact words, but what he said translated into UConn being his top school. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take notes, but I'll be in touch with him more frequently now that he's reopened and his recruitment is unfolding. I have a really good relationship with Prince and his brother Sayed, who I also spoke with today.

I believe that you guys are very much in this still. Instead of him being committed UConn is now "the team to beat". The staff set the bar high and will continue to recruit him hard. UConn did a terrific job recruiting Prince and he's always told me how much he likes Kevin Ollie

A 2016 UCLA verbal recently made a comment about Uconn continuing to recruit him.

Every school does this, UConn included. A school would be dumb not to. These are 16-18 year old kids. Their feelings change.

Recruiting today involves continued recruitment of your current recruits. That said, Ollie seems to have been continually attending events from his commitments. Hopefully Ali recommits & sees how successful UConn guards have been lately.

Another one here: https://rivalshoops.rivals .com/content.asp?CID=1646004&PT=4&PR=2

After reading his quotes, you can't blame the kid. And I'm glad that Kevin Ollie isn't like some on this board and will still recruit Prince Ali. Hope he ends up a Husky.

I hope he still ends up in Storrs too. He's just a kid that committed to early; gladly welcome him back.

Remember all the ____ Calhoun took when Wiggins backed out of St. Johns? It seems like in the intervening years basketball has totally gone the way of football and now kids are fair game until they're in the dorms.

This kid is under the impression that Ollie has an unlimited open door policy. One or two guards commit and he will be wintering in Nebraska. Notice he didn't mention Duke, Kansas, Kentucky. So, just maybe Ollie was still in the I have to get someone that I can develop mood. He wasn't thinking super blue chipper at this stage. One thing is for certain, once a kid gets an offer from UConn his status starts to raise on the charts a la Phil Nolan who ended up as a top one hundred recruit based on his UConn recruitment, certainly not on his ability.

Not sure where you saw that, but that didn't happen.

“It’s part of the process,” Ali said. “People may think it’s strange, but at the end of the day I have to do, what I have to do."

I hate this kind of cliche statement so much. What does it even mean?

Very glad I read the linked article, and thanks for posting it. Seems to me Uconn still has the inside track on landing this kid. And if they do, it stands to reason that he will be even more committed to the program when all is said and done. He'll have twelve toes in.

It means he's a 16 year old kid. They are a confused bunch generally.

Yeah I agree……when I was 16 in the summer I was always unsure of what to do after my Legion games/practices……..should I go play some hoops with the boys and then drink some Schiltz'sl, smoke a bowl or go to some babe's house and grab a BJer……..it's not easy being 16!;)
