I read somewhere he made $1.7 Million NIL this year. He’s really good with social media and podcasts and whatever else the kids are into these days, and being a big fish in small pond for one more year is probably preferable to being an undrafted rookie or a second rounder fighting for a roster spot.

I have no idea what Alex wants to do with his life, but if he decides to keep playing (wherever) for awhile then decides to get into coaching, I think he'll be a great one. He has PG intellect in a forward's body, ability to communicate and a fire in his belly.
 
Alex is going to be great at whatever he wants to do in life. Would love to see him back as an assistant coach someday if the pros doesn’t work out. He truly bleeds blue.

Alex, you’ll always have the heart of a husky, a champion 2x. You gave it your all. That’s all we can ask for. Greatness won’t always be measured in games win and championships, it will be measured in what you give in this lifetime. If you live your life like you played basketball you’ll do great. You handled the highs and lows and you still brought it every day, contributing wherever you could. Any employer would love to have you.

Agree, Alex is an outstanding person who possesses great talents. A tough year but his best days are ahead of him. A real untold story is how much his defense, rebounding and shot blocking improved this year. He got much stronger the last two years via hard work.

Yep he improved his defense a lot this year. Too bad his shooting went south or he would of has a great year and we are talking about 3rd Ring and him going to the NBA. I would love to have Alex back for a 4th year but will respect his decision either way.
 
The only starter in all 13 consecutive NCAAT games we won was AK. That says a lot to me about his importance to the team both on and off the court. He has a great future wherever that takes him.

I believe we don't truly know how much he was injured this season and the impact that had on his game. A concussion, sprained ankle. His shoulder for a few games. His knee at the tournament. He just went out there and gave it his all.

He just didn't look as explosive as he did at the beginning of the year. I don't think he was ever %100 for the last few months.

I watch Azzi Fudd, who was coming off of some significant injuries. Seeing her healed now and seeing the explosiveness she has now is amazing. It sticks out. Alex just didn't look like the same guy. He's not going to race by guys, but he has a very good first step and knows how to keep a guy on his hip once he gets the advantage. Also, earlier in the season, he was playing above the rim more and getting rebounds he just didn't seem to be getting lately. I hope he takes some time, heals fully and wherever he plays next year and beyond has much success.
Thank you Alex... you've been a shining example of class and effort.
 
Couldn’t ask for a better Husky. He wore the jersey proudly. This year doesn’t define him. What a great effort against Florida.

Hoping he gets on an NBA squad and is very successful

Damn. That's heartbreaking.

I think we (as fans) forget how hard these young men work at their craft day in and day out. We often forget that basketball gives them a purpose and that basically they work so hard from a very early age for a shot to play high-level college basketball - and then when they actually get there you get at most 4 to 5 years.

3/4/5 years fly by in no time.

But I hope this brilliant young man can continue to play basketball at a high level for a long time! Wherever he ends up I wish him a ton of success!

Imagine if student with a lot of talent and character, realized that the 2 sure things between now and summer are an opportunity to begin pursuit of a graduate degree, all expenses paid as well as a final year of "amateur" basketball to the tune of easy 7 figures.

No transfer. Same coach. Adoring fan base. Said student realizes that his NBA draft stock may currently be in a sort of suspended animation. He will leave school a wealthy man and pro options may well be no different.

Imagine.
 
This will most likely not be received well but not a huge fan of the weeping and crying after sports losses.

I would think him or shabazz? I know shabazz didn’t have as many as a freshman but didn’t really ever leave the court as a senior

He was the second best freshman in the conference and he honestly was Less impressive each year thereafter . I found him to be super skilled but way too deferential for how good he seemed like he could have been as a player. Even when he was off, I just always thought it was going in. A lot of em went In
He doesn’t strike me as an a NBA guy .. but the reality is that most Good players are not. But, he cared A lot, tried and he did a lotta winning. He’ll be UConn royalty for next 65 years or so..he did all a fan base can ask of a dude

But, why wouldnt he return? does He presume NBA or is he just moving on to the next stage of life. Eric Dixon almost did that “college may be over and may be time to go live real life” consideration. Too they tossed big NIL his way. And it Paid off … maybe AK will have similar choices
 
You and DC will always be special. You have given me soo many great memories.
