Changes the whole look of the Albany region. Now if USF beats Louisville at home, it will only have to beat Dayton to generate an all-AAC Elite 8 match in Albany. Not as remote a possibility as it appeared a few hours ago.

That Ally Mallot on Dayton was rather impressive. 6'4" with 3-point range - 40% for the season - is nothing to sneeze at. Her line for this game was 9-13 FG, 3-4 3FG, 7-7FT, 13 rb.

So hard to believe that the grueling SEC schedule wasn't enough to knock off the 2nd best team in the Atlantic 10...
As a remark - I'm with you.

But just to be fair - Dayton might very well be the "best" team in the A10, they lost twice to GW during the season and again in the tourney, their only A10 losses. Maybe a bad match-up? They were very highly ranked at the beginning of the year and had a rough patch OOC right at the beginning, with losses at Washington State and Gonzaga to open the season and at Iowa shortly thereafter. That was their 6 losses.

I really thought they would be dangerous in the tourney and was a bit suspicious of UK - but I admit I wouldn't have predicted the upset.

For a team to score 94 points and only have 12 assists on 33 field goals I think says a lot about the KY offense.

A truly great game. Grats Dayton.

Of course now the question will always be what would have the game been like if that other senior didn't have to sit out for breaking curfew.

Enjoyed watching this game, enjoyed the outcome. Loved the energy and as others pointed out, grit of the Flyers.

But I would have been okay had KY won - wouldn't mind knocking them out of the tourney yet again!

Kudos to Dayton. They refused to give in and fought back.

They are a worthy opponent.

Not sad to Kentucky go. Didn't think they were a #2 seed. But this may be the future of the tournament with P5 teams getting preference.

I have never seen anyone fought that hard. What an incredible win for Dayton.
Dayton is my Alma Mater and I am so excited for them. It was such a clutch performance. This is their first trip ever to the sweet 16. I'm hoping the men will make it there this afternoon too!

BTW... High school all americans on Kentucky:
  1. O'neill
  2. Goss
  3. Thompson
  4. Epps
  5. Harper
  6. Rice
High school AA's on Dayton - Ally Malott.

Kentucky had a huge advantage on paper in talent. Over rated SEC. Sort of gives credence to the argument that L'ville fans had vis-a-vis their 3 seed vs. Kentucky's 2 seed.
Ally Malott, by far the best player on the floor.

I'm pretty sure that we recruited Ally early on. Many of us were surprised at her mid-major choice.

Congrats to Ally, Coach Jabir, and the Flyers.
