Alabama Post Game Thread

Our guys almost always worked for a good shot. Great passing and patience for shots to open up. That offense is like a surgical team probing for the weakness or opening and those runs at the end were works of art. Bama was explosive but I think they were kind of shocked at what they ran into down the stretch. So proud of each and every one of the them for hanging in there and then exploding down the stretch.

After about the 8 minute mark in the first half or so, they were hanging on by their fingernails. It felt like every single offensive possession UConn might break it open. Except they kept hanging on. It was a great game by them.

They were hanging around based on hitting 3s off of broken plays and weird bounces. It wasn't sustainable.

We played a good team, who played great and were not afraid of us, probably bc of our Coach relationships. Yet we answered the bell and everyone made huge plays down the stretch. Amazing team

Credit where credit is due, Sears was the most impressive scorer we’ve seen in the tournament so far. His ability to finish in traffic as a guy that is MAYBE 6 foot even, is wildly impressive.

But mama Sears is no Mama Kemba….

Only think that sucks about Monday is that it’s his last game.

Every time we were going to pull away, Estrada or Sears hit a tough shot.

Those dudes hit tough shots. Only like 2-3 were objectively "good" looks. Most had a contest. And they made them. Hats off,

No joke. That last Sears 3 was a Steph Curry/ Ray Allen 3 almost by the logo.

Yup. The announcers said that we adjusted our defense in the second half. We didn't. But like you said elsewhere, it was careens, tough bounces, offensive rebounds, broken plays that got them decent 3s. It was almost never in the regular rhythm because our defense disrupted them that much. Hitting those type of shots consistently is really hard. They were bound to start missing.

Was a tough game and still won by 14

I never really understood that. The San Diego State game last year in the title game was a close game. A five point margin with 5 minutes to go is a close game.
