A'ja on Official Visit to.....

UCONN this weekend and UNC the following weekend. She said she would be taking all 5 official visits and will decide in the spring...

I wonder what kind of impact Hatchell's illness will have with her and other recruits. When Calhoun was ill, then injured himself, and was on the verge of retiring, recruits had a lot of questions regarding whether or not he would actually return to coach the team in the coming years. As it turns out, he retired and Ollie has been incredible, but you know opposing coaches used JC's uncertain status against him.

The linked article gives dates of UConn visit as October 17-20. If so, she will arrive today and possibly go to a class tomorrow. (I am reliably informed that they do hold classes on Fridays at the Storrs campus. )

I would be astonished if anyone other than her USA teammate Stewie is her official host and it is a certainty that her itinerary (planned with the precision of the D-Day invasion of Normandy) will include hang-out time with Morgan and Moriah as well.

I sure it will include hang-out time with the other 2014 commits Courtney, Gabby, and Sadie.

Traditionally, all visiting recruits and their families are seated behind the UConn (women's team) bench so they can smooze together. Compatability established at this event can be an influential recruitment factor; after all, A'Ja may well be seated with at least three of her teammates for her four years at UConn.

I wonder where the last three visits will be.

I would think that the large time gap between the first 2 and the last 3 visits offers a challenge in comparing how a recruit feels about the schools/programs. Don't know how that cuts, if at all.

I don't know where she will visit but one thing is certain: They have a tough act to follow!
