Yeah Bill Self is on an entirely different stratosphere than Calipari in terms of actual coaching ability, but me thinks he is flying a bit too close to the sun here with the portal. He is playing god and getting away from what made KU so good all those years. They won it all in 2022 by developing his players for multiple years.

Why would he abandon that model? That is the same model that just won us 2 rings in a row and Hurley has publicly said is the right way to build a program.
